I'm glad you picked McDonald, I was thinking him but hadn't seen enough of Melbourne, I'm usually ironing my curtains or de-fluffing my neighbours cat when they play.

Steven was injured a lot last year, so i dont think his output is out of the ordinary this year.

I think this should be for surprising improvements - because really, Fyfe has probably been the most improved player in the comp, but that surprises nobody. Murphy Boyd likewise. Bruce second in the coleman though? yep he deserves his spot

From the crows perspective it has to be Rory Laird, and to a lesser extent CEY (though does it count as improving if you basically didnt play before this season?)

Missing a back pocket and a forward pocket. Thoughts on the team and who else should be in there?

Fair crack mate and yep I reckon CEY qualifies. It's an awkward topic at times, you look at blokes lol Matty Boyd and Rob Murphy and how well they're playing, but they have been at those levels in previous seasons, just maybe not 2014.

Jack Riewoldt fits into that category too IMO, although he's not kicking as many goals, his football is far more attractive to watch than previous years,

Yeah good call on Riewoldt. Playing a lot more like his cousin this year and less like a whiney little bitch

Cam McCarthy is a little too hot and cold for my liking, there's continents between his best and worst footy.

Yeah I did consider Jack, who's really standing up this year, but has always had the ability, so his improvement not as unexpected

He's probably most improved attitudinal in my eyes, reminded me too much of Richo in his earlier days up until this season, I couldn't stand him but now I respect him, his forward pressure, his courage, his contested marking confidence and his shots on goals. I love it when a player proves me wrong.

yeah, likewise someone like K Kolo, who is a young player so his continued improvement is hardly surprising.

Jamie Cripps could get that last forward pocket role. He is someone who has played unexpectedly well I think

From the Eagles

McGovern, Cripps, Andrew Gaff and Chris Masten

Wellingham has also been great at half back but has played better footy previously

had he never played a game of footy in his life before this year on an AFL list. Is he an ex basketballer, or irish galic footballer?

very impressive.

For me, Yeo, Bruce and McDonald (dees) are my standout best 3.

I just reminded myself of Saad from Gold Coast, who is playing sensational rebound footy from defence. And then Masten I think has improved or maybe is starting to reach the potential he's been given.

I've got a top 5 now ;-)
