Please, please, do not perpetuate the myth that the AFL was the VFL. This is greatly disrespectful to other great players and clubs from at least South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania. JK's post specifically mentions AFL. If he meant all leagues, then different question.

Yeah did specifically mean AFL but the others are good for a secondary part of the discussion

I guess that perpetuates the idea that ruckman really don't have brains...
Along those lines, what position is the most popular for coaches to have played? Are most coaches midfielders, back pockets or forward flankers? That'd be interesting stats...
