Dangerfield

Talk on the national game

What would Essendon have to offer the Crows in a trade?

Not sure they'd be able to offer much that the Crows would be interested in (they have quality but would be unlikely to offer any of these players to Adelaide).

I think probably a 50/50 thing - stay ay Adelaide or seek a trade to Geelong.

Pretty confident Danger will stay in Adelaide. A lot of talk in the media seems to be coming from Victorian sources who were convinced Tex was walking last year. As Port showed last year if you have a core group of talented youngsters they more often then not choose to stay together.

There will always be talk when a player says they won't make a decision until the end of the season.

The Crows improved form will definitely increase the chances of him staying though.

Take Essendon for example. If Dangerfield decided to play for Essendon he would play in front of 60000 fans at least 6 or 7 games a year, Anzac Day, Dream Time, Essendon v Carlton at the G, Essendon v Hawthorn.
What does he get here. A showdown. What a joke.
The footy is real in Melbourne.

Time will tell but as a person who was taken in as a 17 year old and looked after by a footy club both financially and on a personal level this would have an impact on the majority of peoples decisions.
Finally Melbourne is a 50 minute flight away, it's not like you are flying to and from Perth to go home and see your family and friends.
Chris Judd was offered a bus load of cash to go back to Melbourne, I can't see Rodney getting more than he'd get @ Adelaide.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

No disrespect to Essendon but he's a Geelong boy. If he's coming home he's coming to Cat park. If Dangerfield decided to play for Geelong he would play in front of 90000 fans when it matters. What would he get at Essendon, a Grand Final in April. What a joke. The footy is real in late September.

Then again. I don't think he's going anywhere. Why leave now when it looks like they are getting somewhere. Sando has been a tonic for the Blackbirds. Almost makes up for Ayresy.

yep that was funny as!!

seriously though, i reckon he will stay. He seems to be really enjoying this current team and living here in Adelaide.
ANyone listen to the channel Crow podcast each week (which he hosts)? It gives you a good insight to what he is really like. He loves the media side of things. He would have huge opportunity in this field going forward in Adelaide.

What he said, I'll be more annoyed at the Crows if they root around with him. 5 years on what ever he wants. He is an absolute gun, I was saying this last year!!

He is a gun, but an "inside" gun. I'm not 100% convinced of his skills in disposing of it by foot over 40m+, but given his ability and hunger to win the ball in close and dish out by hand it is difficult to be critical of anything he does.

Just think he runs so hard his foot skills can let him down when on the run from time to time. I'd have him in an instant, so dont think I'm saying he's no good.

i agree, he turns it over quite abit by foot, probably why Neil Craig would still be playing him in a forward pocket. imagine if he wasnt wasting away up forward for the last 2 years, where his game could be at.

Geelong is not Melbourne based but it was funny. I could see him coming back to Geelong as I said don't be surprised if the cats make a trade for him.

Selwood would be the only one at the same age with the same output
