But with Ice hockey it is just as psychical as Australian Rules with the hits so I dunno why the teams are complaining.

Are you really that thick? I'm sure all the padding, line changes and shorter game time helps those figure skaters recover. Baseball requires less exertion than cricket ffs. Basketball ppffft. 45 mins of standing around during a non contact sport. Yeah. All good comparisons to footy. You obviously never played the game.

It's not the teams complaining. It's the media commentators making a big deal about it.

I played Aussie rules And I have backed up in younger days for two games in a day/week. Yes hockey players wear pads and there is a good reason for why they wear it. Hockey is 60 minutes all up of three 20 minute periods. You figure it out they are skating as fast as an Aussie Rules player runs and they are hammering each other for a puck. The ice has no give hence the wearing of some of the padding also that puck hitting your body at up to 100MPH wouldn't tickle. Honestly TSG have you fronted up and played Ice Hockey?

Think of the amount of line changes a Ice Hockey player makes and how much time they spend on the ice. At very least they would be playing 1 quarter less than a footballer. Also think about the size of an ice hockey rink (sp) and the distance covered would be alot less. The padding would make a huge difference as well or else they wouldnt wear it.

I will agree with you there but some players can spend up to 30 minutes a game on the ice. I know a rink is less but the distances to chase after a puck will be less. Line changes are done on average avout 2-3 minutes but some lines can stay on the ice for longer. But you work out the hits on the ice and you see how some of the players don't get up. Concussions are more in Ice Hockey than in Aussie Rules. Also being hit with a stick would not tickle either.
You work it out tho how many players are on each surface. 5 including a goalie with 16 on the bench for ice hockey whilst aussie rules has 18 on the field and up to 4 on the bench. I will say Aussie rules is more demanding on certain players than others on the field. The midfielders and ruck line would be one of the most demanding roles in Aussie Rules. But with rotations in Aussie Rules like Hockey players are given a Rest. A while ago we had S.O.O clubs and players kicked up a fuss and in the 1970's -80's the night competition was a mid week competition. I know Basketball and baseball shouldn't have been used for this that was stupid of me. But I will throw it out there and say Ice Hockey is just as demanding on the body as Aussie Rules.

The four day break is obviously a factor but because both teams will have exactly the same break it is a non-issue for the game on Wednesday...

BULLSHIT. Ice hockey skaters don't run for starters. Less game time. Padded. Crap sport anyway. Game for the low iq.

That is one of the most idiotic comments I've read on these forums.

Have you tried skating at full speed on ice skates chasing after a puck??? More than likely not! the pressure put on knees and ankles is just as bad as running then you will have a bloke who weighs the same or if not more than you do slamming into at the same speed you were doing. Then your body will be either slammed into a board with glass or down onto the ice. Ice hockey does stop and start like Aussie rules but it is demanding to keep upright on skate which isn't easy for most of us let alone playing the game at the speed most professional Ice hockey clubs do.
Go out and look up the road to the winter classic have a look at what these players go through. Before making stupid statements like that i have put in bold. TSG great to see you are trolling like always.
