I think with his contract running out at the end of next year they are concerned about losing him to them for nothing so there has been some suggestions that the Saints might trade him this year so they get some value for him leaving.

Yeah i think this was discussed on the Footy show mid year from memory.

That way the saints can get one of the 17 year olds and an early pick from this year..

While your team ( and mine ) is rubbish Droppy we should care. Every top 17 year old they take could have been ours.

That's true. I should care, but I don't and neither will Sydney.

May be nice but I wouldn't want to live in the same complex as every other player at the club. They will literally not have any free time IMO

Dont the GWS have to trade for one of Cornes or Brogan technically even though they have retired, because arent they still on the Power list?

That they do, or pick one of them up in the draft which I doubt will happen

No trade required. Out of contract and basically "free agents".

They just need to pick them in a draft before anyone else does.

Trade with who? They would be crazy to organise a trade for them when they would just let them slip through to the draft

They were speculating on 5AA tonight that Cornes and Brogan could be 2 of the 10 players GWS can pick up for nothing

Correct. Along with Brady Rawlings perhaps? Luke Power?

Be some nice little superannuation top-ups for a few blokes going around one more time. Negotiate a limited pre-season, certainly not doing what the 17 year olds are doing, and go around for 16-18 games in 2012. Not silly at all.

Last 2 draft picks would be my guess.

Will Brogans body hold up for that many games. Cornes probably will go alright, but the ruckman could not even jump last Sunday. I think Luke Power still has a bit to offer in my opinion.
