How quick people judge

My feeling for Schmidt, Moran and Sellar still applies.

As for Petrenko, I guess people saw the number 23 and was hoping for another McLeod.

Have seen little criticism of Armstrong??

 Schmidt Moran and Sellar are not up to it never have never will be!

NFC has been hyper critical of both IIRC and a few others, not only AFC supporters

My word on the coaches role at AFC

Burns - interviewed once, yet to commit fully to the position, No1 choice if he wants it.
Neeld - impressed in 2 interviews wants the role, and a real shot should Burns not want it.

Rest - making up the numbers

For some reason Burns feels like the right fit for mine

Maybe he is staying non-comittal while the Eagles season is still running

Yep, I reckon the only reason he hasn't said he's keen is because he doesn't want to throw out the Eagle's finals campaign. Wouldn't be disappointed if he got the gig.

Michael Coad got delisted today, sure to move back to SA. I would think he was worthy of a rookie list spot for the Crows, a year younger than Nathan Bock and able to hold down CHB. Some may view it as hindering McKernan and Talia but it does seem to be reasonably cheap insurance.

Did he actually do a lot wrong at GC? Thought he had a bad hammy injury and that was it?

Saw a headline in the 'tiser today. Roo telling the crows to trade Tippett now and try and get Day or Gorringe this year instead of a 2nd rounder next year and having to "build" another kid.
What are your thoughts?

I dont think its a bad suggestion from Roo, we currently have Gunston (assuming he signs) and Walker as deep forwards for 2012, with perhaps McKernan, Talia or Thompson to play the CHF position. I know they are all pencilled in as CHB's but at 193 and 194cm, its a struggle for Walker and Gunston to hold down such an important position for four quarters. Dare I say, if Sellar survives the cut he also has the ability to play CHB.
Personally I would like to see McKernan played as a backup ruckmen, occasional deep forward and push Walker up the ground for patches. McKernan is 198cm, same height as Maric I believe and has played plenty of SANFL in the ruck so I think this is the position he would be most beneficial to the crows.
If McKernan could play this position then the forward come ruckmen role Tippett plays could be played by McKernan in a ruckmen come forward scenario.
It would also make us less one dimensional. Without looking at any stats, I think our I50's for the year would have been sufficient to have us in the top 8, but the bomb long to Tippett gameplan didnt work, and wont work unless we can recruit 3 Eddie Betts in the offseason.

Nope, disagree with Roo. Next years (2012) draft is supposedly a 'superdraft' due to the stack of talent in that age bracket. I would let him play out his contract next year (hopefully he has a ripper 2012 to push his stocks up) then trade for picks & or players then if he wants to go home.

There is no way the club will trade him unless he says he is going to go.

Hopefully we can have a good year next year and he can see that in the next 2-3 years we will be up the top which then might persuade the going home factor. Remembering his sister is still in Adelaide as well..

According to the paper (this is from Rucci though!?!) this morning Burns is yet to be formally interviewed. Candidates interviewed have been Justin Leppitsch, Brenton Sanderson and Mark Neeld.

The next few months make for some exciting new prospects for the Crows and I hope they go really hard at trade week a create a few waves.

What do you Crow fans think of this trade. Trying for Shaun Higgans? Gunston for Higgans?

I would take that deal but there is no way Western Bulldogs would do that deal. Maybe if we threw Maric in too they would (we would need a draft pick too)

I think NM would want more than Will Young and Schmidt for Greenwood. Other than that I like your trades. Adelaide's recruiters should take note. :)

Armstrong: Last 4 weeks will determine spot. If he plays as well as last week he'll stay. If not probably gone.
Callinan: Should get another year
Cook: Gone. Decision making awful.
Craig: probably another year. Needs to get his body right.
Dangerfield: Definite keep. For how long though who knows.
Davis: Gone to GWS
Doughty: Hard decison needs to be made unfortunately. Needs to retire or be delisted
Douglas: Keep but needs to show more.
Gunston: Keep
Henderson: Keep
Jacobs: Definite Keep
Jaensch: Keep. Needs to stay disciplined off field
Johncock: Definite keep
Knights: Trade
Lyons: Heven't seen enough but first year on list so keep
Mackay: Keep but needs to get body right.
Maric: Probably need to keep unless we can lure another ready made ruckman from somewhere. Last month crucial.
Martin: Gone backwards. Getting lots of the ball at Sturt but by all reports he butchers it. Possible delist.
Martyn: First year rookie. Haven't seen enough off him to comment.
McKernan: Keep but may be interest over the border.
Milera: All the talent but doen't look like he wants to commit. Gone
Moran: Gone
Otten: Keep
Petrenko: Keep
Porplyzia: Shoulders stuffed but need to keep
Reilly: Keep but need more out of him
Riley: Impressive. Keep
Roach: First year rookie. Very slight and still in reserves at North. Probably gone.
Rutten: Keep
Schmidt: Gone. Too injury prone.
Sellar: Gone
Shaw: Gone. 2 years on list.
Sloane: Keep
Smith: Keep
Stevens: Retired
Symes: 50/50. May get another chance.
Talia: Huge future. Keep
Tambling: Hasn't been given enough opportunites to play through the middle. Will get another year.
L Thompson: Keep
S Thompson: Best and Fairest by the length of South Road. Must keep.
Tippett: Keep unless Gold Coast are willing to give very early pick. Needs to work better with Walker.
van Berlo: Keep.
Vince: Possible trade if you can get something reasonable for him.
von Bertouch: Probably gone. Hasn't played seniors for the eagles.
Walker: Keep.
Wright: Keep. Has been very good in his games this season.
Young: Gone. Too injury prone.

What are others thoughts?

Jaensch is a definite, definite keep, in the first dozen players I'd select with his pace, ball use and creativity. Can also play in most positions. And off field issues are no longer a probelm, he is totally, totally commited now.[/quote]
