Doughty,Griffen and Tippet didnt train today because of the flu....Griffen likely to be the one who is most likely to miss

A couple of points regarding the game:
#Midfield given a footballing lesson
#Ports second and third tier players were better than ours
#Port kicked 10.1 from 11 set shots
#Adelaide kicked 4.8 from 12 set shots
#No score board pressure

Got a laugh when that simple port supporter held up the wooden spoon again. He's done well getting his ugly mug on tv twice in a season.

Big help coming from Essendon and the Dees would have had us sitting almost inside the Eight already ---- then we blow it like that.
That goalshooting was so frustrating ---- straight in front and out on the full !!!
Just have to put it down to youth and inexperience --- still reckon the Crows are a real team of the future, but we'll probably have to wait for 2011 now.

Agree with that 100%. Hurts to lose today, but could be a blessing in disguise with our slim finals hopes well and truly snuffed out. 2011 campaign starts now.

Agree on Davis too.

I hope to Christ that Van Berlo isn't made captain. Borderline best 22.

A terrible display by the majority of the team. If Van Berlo, Reilly & co are the next tier of players to stand up, they'd best hurry. With what they dished up in skills and endeavour yesterday it will be a fair time coming.
Why do Port have the 'wood' on the Crows in Showdowns, it must be a mental deficiency because they looked hesitant, maybe even scared and I reckon I saw Henderson pull out of a contest at CHF at one stage. Why Davis was sent back to the SANFL is beyond reason, at least he can spoil a mark which some others have no idea of doing.

I was asking the same thing this morning, and i hate the fact that it is Port that has the wood over us. Port supporters will hang their hat on this win. I have already had some say to me that they stopped us playing finals this year! Not true, we lost 6 winnable games in a row at the start of the season that is what stopped us playing finals. I just hate that it is Port!

Yesterday was disapponting considering we were still playing for a possible finals spot and that port killed off our slim chance for good that is heart breaking and that now there have won 4 out of the last 5 showdowns to go from 12-12 to 13-16.

fellow crows supporters frusrated at that port have wood over us for the last two years. At least our team give us fans hope of playing in finals each year despite what the experts say most years and if port keeping missing finals and having showdowns as there grand final and we keep make it the finals giving us a chance of playing in the grand final let port have a winning record over us because you play Afl to play in finals and win the premiership thats better then winning showdowns.

I get the feeling that these showdowns mean more to the Power than they do the Crows.

Probably the same reason we can't win finals.

The gameplan has no factor to allow motivation in to get that 'bit extra' in big games.

If the system fails we lose.

i highly doubt that white line fever, Mark willimas lost his first 4 finals as a coach and won a premiership that tells you it is not all about the game plan. Bulldog2004 it seems that way because port are terrible and that there can only rely on showdowns to gain respect not by winning finals or been a consisent team in the afl which everybody respects. Like i said if we make the finals and are successfully and port still miss the finals and win the showdowns let them have it. this said i love seeing adelaide beat port as much as anyone.
