I'm certainly not turning on Burton late in his career - I've never been a fan.
Even early in his career he tended to muck up team mates in a better marking position by going for the speccie over the top.
And, his disposals have always been fairly likely to go to the opposition rather than a team mate.
As a forward target he has, perhaps, been slightly more versatile than Welsh or Jericho, because they were more dependent on the ball coming in fast and accurately, before they could be manned up on.
Burton was at least more likely to take a contested mark when the midfield wasn't winning.
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

Alot of stupid comments on here, and alot of heroes too.
Watching Brett play yesterday I thought he needed to be dropped, surely Walker deserves a run.
I cannot believe how many easy goals we are missing, it's surely cost us 2-3 wins.

Choccies is right he has had MANY highlights in his career and has been good to watch..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cm5iI-e1df4

many hangers are missed from this footage.

but for what its worth i think the crows may have given him one too may years. IMO both him and hentchell should have been the unlucky ones last year.

Nearly, but you are on the right track.....

At best, he is average - but then again, aside from the occasional highlight - he has never been much better than that anyhow.

Burton offers good comedic value out on the field due to his stupidity. For that alone, I'd keep him in the side. At least he keeps the game interesting unlike most of the other players around him...
