That's because he is slow and "not lean". His strength is in packs on cold blustery days at the G. Unfortunately, Carlton play at sterile Docklands. Still, he is a piece of the jigsaw Carlton didn't have and he will need time to gel.

McLean is one of the most overrated players in the game. He had one decent season in Melbourne and left that side in disgust because they were tanking to go and join the biggest tankers in league history. A dead set plodder in my book.

While McLean isn't great and will never be a superstar, i think there is a role for him to play in the Carlton midfield, in recent years we haven't had to many real in and under types meaning Judd, Gibbs and co had to work extremley hard to not only win there own ball but also find space to use the ball. If McLean can find that grunt back he could play a similar role to steven baker at Saint Kilda, though McLean wouldn't be such a tight tagger.

Yeah REB you have said that a few times about McLean.

Carlton will still be competative if they start to run both ways this season. They have far to much talent through the middle not be competative, alot of there scores will come from small forward and midfielders due to the amount of ball they will win through there. However this aint going to cut the mustard and they will fall down agains the better teams.

Heard a rumour that a young, very good player from Carlton has already signed with GC17 for next season but doesn't have to be named by them due to some sort of privacy clause. They can announce it at the conclusion of Carltons season. Scary

Its probably best not to speculate, espically if confidentially clauses have been signed.

It's not Bryce & Kreuzer has re-signed.

Couldnt help but put a few $ on Carlton to miss the 8 @ $1.95 last week. Not sure where there goals will come from. Kreuzer looks more of a ruckman and they will need Judd in midfield. There defence i think is ok at best.

I wasn't inferring that I knew who it was, just that a deal has been done and if the secret is kept (highly unlikely in footy circles) then we won't find out until the end of the season.

Heres another fact, you release that info to the media or public forum then you are in breach of the privacy agreement.

How about talking about Carltons 2010 season.

Considering Greg Swann spoke about how close Gibbs was re signing on radio, and the fact that Kruezer has re signed and the club has released media releases about it, can't see any privacy issues there. If there are issues, in your opinion contact Greg Swann at the Carlton Football Club and tell him he can't go on radio and say those sort of things.....

I didn't mention any players other then the ones the club has mentioned themselves in the media.

And one would've thought young Kreuzer just re signing and the fact that Gibbs is close would be talking about Carltons season 2010 ?

No I was questioning the relevance of your reply.

A - Is Ablett the same player now than he was then? No.
B - Is Pick 26 adequate compensation for the best player in the competition. No again.

Cheers,
