Kane Cornes might be OK as a receiver out on a wing, but his delivery would need some work.
Robert Shirley is more accountable and reliable.
I've never quite understood why some people knock him and Doughty as much as they do.
That said, I think Shirley is close to being cut from the squad as younger players improve.
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

You are joking, right? Kane Cornes rarely gets beaten and it may be true that not all of his possesions are used to full effect as he tends to "chip and run" but he regularly amasses 30+ touches himself. No Port bias here but K.Cornes >>>>> R.Shirley

Ask Ablett and Judd.. ;)
Kane Cornes?
Lots of possessions, few hard possessions, poor results from possessions.
Might do OK with some coaching in basic skills - looked promising early in his career like several other Power players.

Agree with you there Booney. Cornes miles better than Shirley.

Shirley is honest, and a credit to himself as he has got the absolute maximum out of himself.

Cornes is unfairly treated IMO. Too much is expected of him.

Too much expected of him????
The expectation of an AFL footballer is to be able to hit targets without putting team mates under unnecessary pressure through poor skill execution.

Its unfair alright - for his team mate waiting for the footy to arrive.

Fantastic tagger, let someone else set up play across half back!!!

Hit the nail on the head there mate, and thats what he is. Not a top-line midfielder as some expect him to be - that's my point. Plenty of worse players at Port Adelaide than him.
