Port vs Roos

Talk on the national game

I don't have a real problem with the idea that a 50 should be given away if you stop the bloke from playing on - which is what the rule was intended for.

I do have a problem with common sense not being used in all circumstances though. The Edwards one is a prime example. He wasn't stopping the player play on, and he was making his way to the mark (from behind the player admittedly), however he didn't actually stop the player doing anything.

Please, please bring some common sense back into the game. The commentators, the players and Joe Public will enjoy the game much more, and thereby getting back to being umpired without the multi coloured maggots being the centre-piece of our great game.

A disappointing match to watch.
I thought Port showed more skill at times, which kept them in the game, but the half-hearted efforts and appalling disposal decisions offset that.
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

Exactly, no mention of the other 4 goals that Port got from free kicks? Compared to the one the Roos got? He pushed McMahon over, therefore allowing his defenders to man up and not give McMahon a fair option of getting the ball on quickly, a completely justified 50m penalty IMO, if he hadnt of pushed him over and he stayed on his feet no 50m, but he did...

Roos were great last night, with 6-7 top liners out of our team and nothing to play for you got to admire them, Boomer was sensational and absloutley out ran Kane - the goal in the last was superb and just brunt him off, had a great night with the Roos fans behind the Southern goals

On the Port side they just dont put enough pressure on the ball carrier, they are fine when they have the ball but when they dont they are terrible - surely that comes down to coaching? Anyone ever seen Westoff lead and get the ball in the corridor?

very proud and very satisfied.....shall I bump my favourite thread? :D ;)

Proud and satisfied of what? You coach quit in the middle of the year and you missed the Finals again after 6 or 7 straight losses.

If your pride is hanging on beating Port in the last game of the year.....
