There is no premiership hang over at Hawthorne......There still drunk! ;)

Serious though they were terrible against Port. I believe Port at the moment are a mid table team so there is plenty of work for the Hawks right now.

The Hawks must win this week to keep in touch with the 8. If they lose this week they could be 2-4.

Shaky start to the year, i reckon they should slip into the 8 though.

5 of back 6 from GF side still out...
Take that out of any side and it will prove difficult to cover..
Lewis, Sewell, interupted pre seasons..
Franklin is not fit, but game time will get him there..
Osborne back soon..

Don't write them off just yet... ;)

Another injury from last week (Young - hamstring)
Get Guerra and Osborne back from injury, so at least its a 2 for 1 deal.
Stokes dropped for the game is far from a surprise

Mate nobody is writing off the Hawks yet. They beat the improving eagles in Tassie in a better display of football from them. They are starting to head in the right direction now.
And getting players back is always a positive for any team.
I still believe the players are a bit hung over but will be there in the main stuff at the end of the season.

The most overated premiers since the Crows of 97&98.

From watching the first half I was happy with our attack on the footy, skills were OK until we got to half forward.

Dont know if I wanna watch the last half though... :(

A few blokes didnt look real fit though, reckon Hodgey and Mitch werent moving too freely. Taylor has to go- Renouf is a bit loose* but Taylor Im afraid has no idea. Probably would have been better to have him rubbed out!

Gonna be tough from here..

Why, because they're having a tough start to this season?
Hawthorn were very good during the 2008 season and awesome during the finals, outplaying the Cats in the final (the Cats were the overrated ones).
So they were worthy premiers.

As for that Crows crap, well it's all be heard before.
No one's EVER claimed the 97/98 sides were as good as say the the Brisbane 3-in-a-row sides.
They simply happened to be the best side in September in those years.

Wow, Hawthorn well and truly suck. :?

They are awful, all starts with their defence, still big names out and they can't seem to generate any run this year.

essendon exposed a serious lack of leg speed tonight. When they get a few players back in the back half should help with that.

Geez those Hawkers have a mighty hangover! When are they going to prove they are / were premiership material?!
But yes, it was a pretty pointless comment wasn't it?!

Well they proved they were premiership material on September 27, 2008. As for if they will prove they are premiership material this year it isn't very likely.

Tag Hodge. Fill the hole in front of Buddy. Zone off to assist Roughead's opponent. Run at the zone and hold on to the ball occasionally as the Hawk players zone off to cover the reciever. Essendon did all of this beautifully last night.

NEXT

No need to guess what the President is thinking

JEFF Kennett has apologised for the poor performance of Hawthorn's "football department" on the weekend.

The Hawthorn president published a letter on the club website today saying "I apologise to you for the way in which our football department performed yesterday against Brisbane".

Kennett went on to say the Hawks are "losing games, we should not be losing" because they had lost their application to team work.
