virtually every club wants to play on Friday in the last week of the practice matches, to give them the greatest amount of time before round one, and also because a few of them run family days on the Sunday. St Kilda happy to play mid afternoon if it got them a flight out, and it's cheaper to only open the stadium once for seven hours, than twice for four hours.

I headed down to this spectacle. I thought it was a wonderful night, with some "alright" footy played.

St.Kilda looked really crap, but Sydney looked not much better.
