The benefit will be teams will be much more urgent in their movement of the ball at the end of each quarter, how many times are we frustrated by teams taking their time going forward only to run out of time

I reckon it will have the opposite effect mate.
If a team is up by 1 goal and they know there is only 1 minute on the clock, they'll definitely time waste.

The players already know. That's why they time waste.

As I said before, an AFL coach who keeps the time remaining to himself and lets the players guess is a negligent AFL coach. In fact, he doesn't exist.

Geez, at AAMI unless it's a Ch10 game the time remaining is clearly visible on the big screen anyway  Do the MCG and Docklands show the TV coverage on their big screens?

Am I the only one who uses a stop watch when Ch10 do their five minute warning? I'm always within 5 seconds.

Countdown clock at the ground? No thanks.

ever thought it might be more exciting to know how much time is left?

i.e. kick a point to break a dead lock knowing there is 2 seconds to go?
your team going forward with 10 seconds on the clock knowing its their last chance and a mark will give them a shot after the siren?

Must admit, I like the idea of the countdown clock showing the remaining time between a finished quarter and the next one

i.e. kick a point to break a dead lock knowing there is 2 seconds to go? Think of the hysteria when the siren goes and you find out you have just won the game..!

your team going forward with 10 seconds on the clock knowing its their last chance and a mark will give them a shot after the siren?Imagine the player dropping the mark and everyone knowing that he ballsed it up...! Admittedly you would know within seconds anyway.

I agree, it might be. Do I want to find out? No thanks.
PAFC. Forever.

All you need is a normal round clock, one hand, yellow shading for time on.
And a caltex logo or something on it.
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!
