Dont forget they will have Giants and Swans in Perth in R13 and 14 on top of that. They may even stay home for the rest of the season if nothing changes with the WA gov.

LOL, Geelong go from a 12 day break to three 5 day breaks in a row (including flying across the country), good work AFL.

Do you get many 6am flights to play at lunch and fly home to go to bed?

Surely if they want to condense matches into a short period of time we could have less than a 12 day gap between games while we're sitting around Perth? Especially if we then have to play 3 in 15 days after that.
Having said that I don't envy their job at the moment, actually I do, it would be a fun challenge.

Bit rough being hard on the people doing the fixture.

Perhaps the 12 days is because you're "out" of quarantine and you can't play anyone who is yet to quarantine?

That's a bit rough.
Probably means half day holidays for WA...

We're the only state with no active cases and they still send Port to Queensland.

By round 12 we will have played 4 games at home.

Hopefully we get a nice run home as we'll have Collingwood, Essendon, Hawthorn, North Melbourne and Sydney to play.

At least we get to play Richmond and the Dogs over here, both teams have a relatively good record here anyway though but I expect them both to be in the top 6 at the pointy end of the season.

Crows too, no games here at all rounds 9 or 12. At least with North V Adelaide they could have played that in Tassy to give North a proper home game. Have to thing the state government is stepping in to limit the number of games with crowds.

So, one for the conspiracy theorists out there.
The original dates for the 2020 Olympics was July 23 (tomorrow) until August 8.
And now, in almost the exact same time frame, the AFL announces it will play 33 games of footy over the next 20 days.
I’m guessing channel 7 has booked out or sold off massive amounts of advertising time slots but with less people watching with the Olympics being put back, they have asked the AFL for assistance.
Hence the 33 games on consecutive nights over 20 days.
Coincidence or not?

*Not thought up by yours truly, sent to me last night.
