Lose to North and Brisbane and you might not be top 4.

Wouldn't fancy heading west or north for the first final either.

Rule us out I think. Not sure we will win any of our remaining games. We are running on empty and not sure we can make it to the finish line.

If Fremantle beat St Kilda then you, you're right, you might miss out.

Bulldogs, Fremantle away, Collingwood, 1 win is all you'll need and all 3 could be win or loss.

Fremantle 36

Carlton 28
Melbourne 20
Gold Coast 12

*Based on all results being 20 point wins.

Port defeating Essendon now has my predictor chucking them into the 8, that's even factoring a loss to North.

Key games for the bottom half of the 8:
Round 21
Port vs Sydney
Essendon vs Bulldogs
West Coast vs Adelaide
Round 22
Adelaide vs Collingwood
North Melb vs Port
Freo vs Essendon
GWS vs Bulldogs
Round 23
Collingwood vs Essendon
Bulldogs vs Adelaide
Port vs Freo

I have the top 4 all finishing on 64 points too.

You guys are going to fall over the line, unless Adelaide beat Collingwood at Adelaide Oval then you might outspaz Port and Adelaide, that's even with a loss to the Bulldogs this week, win that and you can set up the barbie for week one of the finals.

I love how teams our falling over themselves not to make the 8 but the AFL thinks we need a wild card game in the week between Rd 23 and finals.

Yeah, what a load of snot, if anything, they should limit it to top 6, otherwise use the week off (if there is one) for 7th to play 10th and 8th to play 9th for the last two spots.

Either way, you've had 22 games to prove if you're good enough, most of the time the bottom 4 are just making up the numbers, anyone know where there's a list of who has won from what position?

This year is a bit unusual. Normally sides 7-10 are performing well and pushing for finals. This year it seems to be last man standing.

With 3 weeks to go anyone of Adelaide, Port or the Bulldogs could hit the finals with some momentum.

Adelaide - West Coast, Collingwood, Bulldogs.

Port - Sydney, North, Fremantle

Bulldogs - Essendon, GWS, Adelaide.

If any of those can win 2 they probably play GWS in the first week, if they can win 3 they might leap frog Essendon in 7th and get Collingwood at the G. Maybe even Collingwood at home if they lose to Adelaide and Essendon. With some momentum that wouldn't be the worst case scenario given they're literally limping into September.

It does look a race in 3, West Coast, Richmond and Brisbane at the moment but one of the sides 8th-10th could get a run on, get lucky and find themselves in a prelim.

I had us dropping the game v WC at the MCG. This dropped us to 5th on my ladder with GWS pipping us to 4th spot.

I'm not sure we can go 9 games straight into finals & think we may drop one of WC or Brisbane at the G most likely the first one.

Very doubtful IMO.
GWS and Collingwood are getting players back and as much as I hate to say it I can’t see 7th or 8th being competitive at all. Even if one of us got up there it would be carnage the following week.
Stranger things have happened but it would almost be 1000/1 that 7th or 8th make a Prelim this year

Doing the ladder predictor

Cats
Eagles
Lions
Tigers
Pies
Giants
Power
Crows

Have Swans losing against Port but winning the last two
Port winning all 3 (unlikely going on their history)
Crows beating Dogs
Pies/ Tiges winning all 3
Eages/Cats/Lions 2/3

If I recall correctly, and someone tell me if I'm wrong but I have a feeling the Dogs won it from 7th a couple years ago...

I could be wrong though... [emoji848]

Dogs were only two games and percentage from top for memory.
The top 7 was separated by 2 games.
This year 7th and 8th will be 4-5 games behind
