Gold!

I used to get the shits on with my former boss trying to find reasons to write me up, he'd log on to my pc after I'd go home and go through all my files, I had one that was titled "nice tits", he thought he had me but it was a pair of birds.

If only there were some indicators that he missed his family and friends...

Takes a year off and signs with fremantle anyway?

My predictions for the year

Premiers - Hawthorn
RS - Petracca
Coleman - Kennedy
Brownlow - Hannebery
Spoon - Essendon
Bolter - Geelong
Slider - Freo/Crows

Crows draw is ridiculously hard this year. Even if we play as well as we did last year, we will still likely end up with 1 or 2 less wins, which would be enough to make us miss.

The group of middle teams seems to be bigger than ever this year - GWS, GC, Port, Geelong and Collingwood all missed finals and all look likely to improve, Richmond Bulldogs Crows and North Melbourne dont look like they are gong to drop off significantly either, and Freo are likely to join this group of middling teams too.

Might be north's last chance given the age of their list, but for this year at least they will be around the mark.

Contracted to the end of 2017 so GWS will still be able to trade him

So you have listed Adelaide as a slider but dont see them dropping off this year?

At the end of the day losing Dangerfield will have an impact. I expect you guys to slide a bit based on that. Maybe still just finish in the 8 though.

If we play at the same level as last year we won't get the same ladder position, as the draw is harder and Geelong and port won't be as bad. So I think we could still be as good as last year and still miss finals.

How can you be as good as last year and still miss finals?

What unit of measurement are you using to determine what "good" is?

Just getting out the hard draw excuse early

Yes too early, save the excuses for when they are 0-5

So you think how good a team is is dictated purely by win/loss in a season?

Jarryd Roughead will miss the first half of the 2016 season after undergoing a PCL reconstruction.

I do, that's why the ladder is based on wins/percentage and not opinions

Well there's no point being "good" and finishing 10th is there.

I guess you could say the 9 teams above them are "gooder"...

You guys are honestly cooked.

Here is a better example. Everyone knew freo weren't the best team last year even though they finished top and hawthorn finished 3rd. They had a rubbish start to the year but everyone knew they were better than that, they lost 4 games in the first 8, and 3 in the in the next 19.

Of course wins and losses plays a huge part but there are other factors at play - winning or losing a bunch of close games, injuries to both your side and the side you are playing, preparation at different times of the year, etc etc.

The draw also plays a part. Crows in 2012 and port in 2014 both had pretty easy draws which probably had them a couple of spots higher than they probably deserved and they got found out the year after.

Name a good team that finished 6th or lower in the last 3 seasons.
