The biggest leadership group ever in AFL history, 21% of the playing group in the leadership group!

lets break this one down hey?

Domenic Cassisi Fair enough
Dean Brogan Yep
Travis Boak Yep
Alipate Carlile WTF?
Troy Chaplin Has shown some leadership
Salopek not in best 21
Jay Schulz WTF?
Surjan not in best 21
Jackson Trengove 3rd year in AFL, give the kid a chance to establish himself first

Gee they have been ordinary on the field this year but some of the decisions off field are even more staggering...

Shulz is a leader down there so a bit harsh on him. Agree on the rest though

The only two who should not be in there are Surjan and Salopek. The group is selected in January, at that point they would have been seen as senior players in the squad. Carlile has since proven that he should not be in the group either.

Once again, kick an easy target while they're down.

I trust you will take your colourful time to pick this group apart? So 9 in Ports group is a greater %age than the 10 in the West Coast Eagles? Biggest in history of the AFL!!!

The team's full leadership group is Glass, Waters, Adam Selwood, Scott Selwood, Embley, LeCras, Dean Cox, Matt Priddis, Josh Kennedy and Shannon Hurn.

YOUNG Eagle Scott Selwood has received a massive vote of confidence from his teammates by being promoted into the West Coast leadership group at just 20.

Selwood, the youngest of four brothers who have played in the AFL, is one of three inclusions into a super-sized leadership group of 10 for season 2011.

Despite getting a bit of it up forward (17 disposals for the game) his reuturn of 2 goals 6 points was an accurate reflection on Eberts game on Sunday (most of those shots missed were pretty easy too), he's not a shadow of the player that won the Magarey, he'd be struggling to get in some SANFL sides let alone an AFL side. Mind you Port aren't adverse to playing players that aren't even up to SANFL quality let alone AFL quality.
Being 5 years away from being competitive is generous IMHO especially with the new side coming in. Port are virtually starting from nothing without the concessions that the other clubs starting from nothing are getting. They should be looking about 10 years down the track but I don't think they'll survive that long. Adelaide Oval will give a small initial boost with the novelty wearing off there after a year or two and then the plug will be pulled.

Well, who woulda thought there'd be a smiley cop lurking around these pages..!??? :-? :ymbringiton:

Surely you remember those dim, dark days down at the Cattery, Rikardo?? Immense frustration. Getting belted by ordinary sides. Sound familiar?? Like getting beaten by a rookie side only 3 matches into their existence, for example.. I will roll my "friggin" eyes as much as I like - far better than ripping out the evil twisted smiley out & conveying extreme anger..... :P

Here's a trivia question for the masses... :D

Who's the SaFooty member who once rode in my boot to a Port vs Geelong match at Footy Park from my house? 8)
