That sounds like a very generous offer..
Presumably, the Saints think Burgoyne will recover form in a new environment.

This is just my opinion, but if you were going to get Luke Ball and Pick 16 for S.Burgoyne, then you should be asking the next question "we do we sign".

I think Chocco is still waiting for Hawks to throw up Franklin, Roughead + Pick 9 for Burgoyne...seriously the Luke Ball trade is a great deal for Port, can't believe they knocked that back.

This trade appears to be almost done:

THE BRISBANE Lions are set to acquire 2005 Sydney premiership player Amon Buchanan and the Sydney Swans will gain West Coast Eagles ruckman Mark Seaby in a deal agreed to by the three clubs.

It is understood West Coast's Brent Staker will also head to the Lions as part of the deal and Lion Bradd Dalziell will shift to West Coast.

Draft picks are also likely to be exchanged.

that one is official. Picks 28 and 39 involved as well
Roger Woodcock -- 602 goals from a forward flank makes you a legend.

This looks to be a good deal for all. Seaby is ok but 3rd in line at the eagles at the moment and staker might well need a change to get him going again. And Daizell is a gun, a top young player.
Buchanan is good value as well, will go well in the lions team.

Gibson to the Hawks is good for them. They need to rebuild that backline without Croad down there. A few picks flying around as well. Still I think the Hawks have done very well at the moment.
Whats next?

What a stupid comment. Port have said what they want from the Hawks, and Port have said a couple of times the Hawks arent taking the trade seriously. The only reason Port are trying to deal with the Hawks is that Shaun has nominated them as the club he wants to go to. Otherwise Port would have told Hawthorn where to go by now.

The Riddler's joking suggestion was an exaggeration, but it does appear that Port [and some supporters] have an inflated idea of what S Burgoyne is worth based on his form from several years ago.
That appeared to be the thrust of what TR was saying - that Port are not being realistic...
Port could get nothing for him in the end if they don't work from his current worth.

Its all part of the bluster that occurs during trade week. They're trying to get as good a deal for him as possible, wouldn't make much sense to accept something on day 1.

True - you just don't want to be so busy blustering you forget to stop and seal a deal before it is too late..
