Paul Connors is a snake.
Basically said that Adelaide should just cop it and accept the pick 14 compo for Danger

Problem is, in a good side, he should be a gun. In recent years, we've given enough other teams a leg up by trading badly, so I'm happy we're after a first rounder seeing that he is still contracted. We hold all the cards in this one.

If Richmond don't come to the party, make him play VFL or sit out all year.

Jetta will struggle to get a game. Wellingham,Schofield, MacKenzie, Hurn,Sheppard, Brown, Barrass, Ellis, Butler.
If we are going to give up a key position player, you don't do it for a flanker.
I think Freo suits better.

Yeah, not sure how Jetta fits in there but its probably time for Lycett to move on, just isnt going to get the opportunities at West Coast

Lycett was very close to coming back to Port a year ago, very close. He might now wish he took that offer up.

Apparently he's a quality player - played 3 games for the Northern Blues towards the end of the season barely bothering the statistician, then all of a sudden he's a world beater and Carlton demands the world for him.

cant blame them for trying to get the best deal for themselves. Not that they will get anywhere a first rounder, but you gotta start the bargaining off somewhere, and as high as possible would be the right place :D

Not sure that's a great move by the Hawks. I reakon he had another year in him.

Although, next year might be the last year for a few others so the "list management" people kick in.

They need to play Shoenmakers otherwise they will lose him. Frawley and Gibson can handle the backline with cameos from others.

The maker-of-shoes has and will play more of a CHF role than at full back. He isn't a Lake replacement.

Can totally understand the Hawks need to move some 30+'s on. Didn't realise Burgoyne was 34!

Might seem strange but would the Bullies look at taking him back for a year? Gives them some size and experience in their young back line, plus some reasonable intelligence from the Hawks.

Burgoyne signed a one-year deal earlier this year, he's about to turn 33. 4 flags, 5 Grand Finals...not bad!

Lake 33, Mitchell and Burgoyne both turn 33 this October, Gibson, Hale and Hodge all 31, Lewis 29, Roughead and Spangher 28, Simpkin, Puopolo, Birchall, Frawley and Suckling all 27.

With Lake and Hale gone, there's still some life in the 28+ group at the Hawks. 2015 might not be the end of their run.....

On the couch got his age wrong last night then.

They are going to have to regenerate that midfield in the next 1-2 years, be interesting to see how they go about that.

Jake Carlisle a perfect replacement for Lake. Expect the Hawks to swoop in at the 11th hour and pinch him

they have hartung, litherland, simpkin, o'rourke etc all not getting regular footy, reckon their midfield still has a lot of life.

while mitchell and hodge are still there i reckon they will at least finish top 4 every year

Yep, Burgoyne on a 1 year deal, Mitchell and Hodge in the last of their current contract in 2016, Lake and Hale gone, there's money there for Carlisle and he'd walk straight into a side set to play finals again.

Zac Smith to nominate Essendon or Geelong today.
We have gone from playing two rucks to chasing Leunberger and Smith whilst re-signing Bellchambers and having Giles on the list :D
