Their skill level has dropped to deplorable levels.
Cant hit a target
Turnovers are killing them
Only plan going forward is to kick to the pocket or flank boundary where they're often outnumbered which sees the ball usually go out of bounds. By the time its thrown in the entire 18 of the opposition have crowded into their forward 50 making it impossible for Port to score. If by some fluke they do mark the ball, they're always having shots from the fence.
Decision making ability has turned to shit. Some of the passes they attempt to do are just plain STUPID. If you're gonna stuff a kick up, stuff it up kicking 50m not frick'n 20m to a 1 on 2 with a 5% chance of marking it.
As mentioned earlier, playing on for the sake of playing on is hurting them too often.
Also i think the belief has gone from the players that they can comeback from 3 - 4 goals down as the opposition seem to be able to just shut the game down to easy. Seems they had learnt little from their previous 2 losses.

Don't underestimate the work opposition has put in to shutting Port down through the corridor. At this stage they have no plan B to combat this.

Think a Richmond player pointed out Port run when they have the ball but aren't reacting quick enough when they don't to get back and help the defenders out.

nah they haven't played anyone who is a genuine top 4 side away from home

the only time they come up against a top 4 side away from home is Rd 15 v Hawks in july.....

They don't really need too until the last Saturday of the season. They will get 2 home finals, and with that, you'd expect them to playing in a GF.

the reason i ask is because the crawled over the line against the swans at home after being up by a large margin at half time, just beat the bulldogs away from home...

they are certainly a class side, but are they that good???

Still not sold on west coast either.

Lyon has been foxing a bit IMO, they put the cue in the rack against us, West Coast and even to Sydney to some extent. He knows they have a long season so its no good burning them out. They will finish clear top at end of minor round

apart from Freo, Hawks, Swans, there are no other genuine Premiership contenders.

its a tough year to get a real good gauge on some sides. I think those that were in the finals last year have slipped a little, some lower sides last year have improved and now they are all fairly even with eachother and then there are the bottom couple

Absolutely, there's a few teams riding some success from playing against some poo sides but wont have what it takes to front up against the big 3 when the seasons starts to narrow.
