Betts has been good for the Cows but I'd take Cryil everyday of the week over Betts.

I'm biased but I'd take Wingard over Betts as well.

That's why it isn't hype and Rioli is so much better than Betts.

Rioli has more strings to his bow in that he can go forward kick goals and his defensive fwd 50 pressure is 2nd to none.

Then unlike Betts he is part of their mid rotations and sets up play for scores.

it's why Wingard is better than Betts too.

But Betts plays for Adelaide so he must be awesome!!!!!

Whilst Dermy was cheesy as ****, I really enjoyed the Cyril show last night .. And whilst I was marvelling at his goals and marks, I thought the most fascinating thing were the couple of slow-mo's that showed just how quick a thinker he is on the field. Sums things up by checking out so many options in the blink of an eye.

Then in complete contrast were some of his run and goal moments where Im pretty sure he just wings it and makes decisions on the fly.

Seriously spectacular player, love watching him - So much of his uncle about him, but he does things a bit quicker.

Which one? Maurice, Sebby (WAFL state player IIRC), Michael (on his Mums side)...

if an AFL club has balls they'll draft his cousin Willie as a rookie this year. Needs to develop his tank but can do those small freakish things like Cyril that create opportunities for his team mates.

Any club that does will have a player come 2018 (2016 get his tank right, 2017 gets used to AFL footy, 2018.....)

Excellent post.

These arseholes fling shit at the drop of the hat and when their skipper gets done DUI days after their assistant coaches son gets killed by a drink driver they are at pains to explain "He thought he was ok". Bullshit.

A contrite apology from Hodge.

Hawthorn to make a stand and, much like the Gold Coast did with Bennell, stand shoulder to shoulder and admonish the actions of one of their own, but just deflect it as :

"He got caught by an unmarked car, just off the freeway, he was only just over, he thought he was ok...."

Would your boss even have to make a comment on such a thing if it happened to you,

What I saw on 360 was that Clarkson admitted it was wrong as was a mistake.

Both Clarkson and Ratten have lost close family members to drink driving and if they believe it was a mistake from Hodge and the penalty he has suffered is adequate then that's good enough for me.

Does an apology from people who don't even know you, who couldn't give a crap about you make you feel warmer inside

Even if they did apologise 90% of people would sit there and bag it as being scripted etc etc

Did Campo do this in the Jaensch case??

Genuine question I was interstate when this all went down, and it didn't rate a mention in the media over there!

Fair point, no, he didn't and the club made very little of it.

Yes, I too would be under some close scrutiny if I lost my licence. It's an integral part of, but not the be all and end all, of my position.

I reckon having a licence as an AFL footballer probably isn't that important, 50 odd other mates to scab a lift off lol

No he didn't, as far as I know the club released a statement and that was it, so fair point.

But they also didn't front up trying to defend jaensch as being such a good bloke, and he isn't captain, and he wasn't about to play on the eve of a finals series, and he didn't just have a coaches son die due to drink driving.

I think it is those other circumstances that makes their defence of hodge a little perplexing, not the pure action itself, which was on the minor side of things.

So I take it as long as your not a club captain, playing finals, and out injured drink driving is acceptable.... that's one skewed moral compass B Mac!

That's not what I said.

They are both dickheads for what they have done, and both should be punished, and fining them both is ok with me.

I'm just saying if there was anyone in the world that should have had drink driving at the forefront of their mind, it would have been hodge. So for the club to come out and defend him in the manner they have done was crazy.
