You also must wonder what the penalties would have been had they not been in the 8, lucky for the AFL they were i guess.

Lucky they had an interim report to work from otherwise they would not have been able to impose this penalty.

Why didn't the AFL give Essendon FC a punishment that actually might have hurt them? Why do they still have the right to contest the Anzac Day clash? Surely the AFL should have given the Essendon FC Anzac Day off in 2014? Actually I cannot see why the MCG Anzac Day clash can't be between the previous season's top 2 ranked Vic teams - which means for example that Anzac Day 2014 could see a Hawthorn/Geelong battle and given the clashes these two teams have had in recent years they would be worthy combatants.

Because the AFL is corrupt and they only want to line their own pockets.
No way would the AFL do anything to hurt their bottom line

I wouldnt be complaining too much Jim, That right there is the reason EFC did'nt get what they deserve.
Wouldnt mind betting the infraction notices come after the grand final, total coincidence of course.

How cynical us football supporters have become. Another of Vlad's legacies. The man has to go. Look at this Simmonds Stadium final. It's not about fairness for Geelong but squeezing the extra coin out of Richmond and Collingwood fans...two clubs that finished below Fremantle on the ladder. A shorter season with seventeen matches and a bye would fix the draw and get rid of some of the horrible practice matches that have been created each week to accomodate the expansion teams...but we won't see that either.

DISGRACE.

This is true.
A middle age women displayed that sign on Saturday night.
Security told her to remove it several times and she refused, the crowd stuck up for her and got into the security.
The security disappeared and returned with police officers who then informed her the AFL has directed them to confiscate the offending sign.
Absolutely piss weak

I hear the ACCC is stepping in on this and has charged the woman with false advertising.

Being reported that Vlad has said Essendon players who don't want to stay will be able to walk from the club as delisted free agents. This means no compensation!!

This is great news for the players who have been treated as guinea pigs by Hird.

Good luck getting back into the 1st 2 rounds of the draft now.
Open Season, let the raping and pillaging begin
It's not all lost though, should get some handy picks to fill their list at number 110,111,112,113,114,115,116,117 etc

I wonder what the ruling would be on someone like Goddard? He has gone there thinking he may have a chance at a flag late in his career but if say 5 players left that severly dents that prospect. I guess he has Bank acc to look at

This was always on the cards.
Will probably lose only 3-4 and maybe only 1 or 2 are any good
Cant see wholesale changes happening as clubs still have to find room in their cap

Could see GWS picking up Bellchambers without trading for him now, plenty of room in the cap for free agents if what has been said is true.

Bellchambers wanted to stay a few weeks back but now things have changed he will be on his way. GWS have offered far more than us even if he wants to stay.
Believe they are offering around 700k per season.
Crameri has been offered around 550k by the Dogs so id imagine he would go.
Ryder still has 2 years to run on a 800k per year contract, he would have to take a paycut to go somewhere else but he will go.
The only positive will be we could lose Jetta and Davey
