You know as well as anyone that the CBA is almost complete between the AFL and the AFLPA, been many signings announced at other clubs in the last month? Nope.

I see, they've played nearly 40 games between them, can understand why you wouldn't want to lose players of that calibre.

I'm surprised there wasn't more fanfare made of the signings. Barely rated a mention.

Dumont robbing the cabbie was more of a press item.

When you have signed all of your top-liners you then move to the kids, pity Port have done neither.

Case in point RE Hinkley not respecting structure or key position players... Picking Neade - serial under performer at AFL level, over Howard - exciting young key forward prospect, when we were just smashed in the tall department and the opposition coach freely admitted he purposefully copied a previous coaches tactic of exploiting our lack of height.

You'd think Neade would've been dominant and Howard scratchy. Nah nah, Howard had 4 more disposals, 7 more marks. And of course ... kicked 7 more goals.

But we'll continue to play our most experienced key defender on a forward flank, our most dynamic tall forward on a wing all whilst our actual key defenders barely top 190cm. Not to mention a penetrating kick and skillful player who cant really defend playing on the half back flank and one that cant kick over a jam tin playing there instead!

For **** sake Ken.

Trengove to CHB.
Dixon to a low CHF.
Westhoff to a high flank.
Howard to FF.
Jonas to the back pocket.
Hombsch to the pine and rotate in for when Trengove chops out Ryder.
Hartlett to the forward flank.
DBJ to the back pocket.
Houston to the back flank.
S.Gray to the pine.
Neade to the SANFL.

I really do get the feeling Hinkley is secretly a wannabe dutch Soccer coach and he is trying to implement "total AFL football". It's a novel concept and Holland regularly beat up on lesser sides.

Remind me how many world cups they've won again?

Howard kicked 8 goals - against the bottom, winless side.. when he can put together regular performances in front of goal on the board then i'll agree.

Neade provides the F50 pressure that was clearly lacking last weekend, and he's able to hit the scoreboard. I think Neade/Young in the side frees up Gray to spend more time up the ground in the midfield where i think Port have missed his creativity around the contest.

Brett Eddy is the one i think is over due for a crack - he's kicked 25 goals this year, and in his 8 games so far has kicked 3 or more on 6 occasions!
