Pretty handy resume and well deserved.
Its a pity some of these champs cant be added when alive, the AFL seems in such a hurry to add others earlier who are less deserving.

Imagine the celebration when he kicked that goal. I hope it wasn't at the start of his career being tried as a forward.

The 3x All Australian is a remarkable effort.

I think the carnival was only held every other year back then, so to be the best full back in the state for 6 years and then every 2 years during that period be seen as the best full back in the country is a remarkable achievement.

As noted, well and truly deserved.

Far be it for me to want to help Collingwood out, but, there's reports the round 5 Collingwood v Essendon clash will be moved to Sunday night to allow the quarantined Essendon players to play in the match. You reckon Ed will be ok with that? I'd be saying bullshit to you AFL, not our problem.

How about the reporters on the weekend saying the positive COVID test was "inevitable"

There have been 7,461 cases amongst a population of 25,499,884 which = 0.029% a chance of getting it.

Yep inevitable, just bloody unlucky if you ask me

The AFL has said that right from the start hence the shorter quarters and flexibility in the draw. With Melbourne being a bit of a hotbed for cases recently I’d imagine the chances are greater now. Some suburbs in Melbourne are going into virtual lockdowns if things don’t improve

Testing numbers are still fairly low.
Would be a lot more out there that are positive.
The rest of the Essendon playing list tested negative on Saturday night as did his housemates thankfully

Even at 0.029%, for 800 odd AFL players that means there is a 23% chance 1 of them has it.

Add in the fact that these players are over-tested in comparison to the rest of the population, means it's higher again.

Inevitable is perhaps over stating it, but to suggest it was a remote chance isn't accurate either.

Whats the maths behind 23%?

I've heard that AFL will be postponed for a fortnight starting this week. Players have been told to be prepared for a 2 week break.

Bugger. No match payments.
