Yeah hes probably not a typically dirty player as such just made a bad decision. However he still needs tk be accountable as Gaff was knocked out duebtl his brain snap.

Reckon I heard/read that both Rance & Jonas contacted the players they hit directly (by phone/text) before the public apology etc via the media. It's all very stage managed, and most likely driven by the big end of town at Docklands. The clubs & the players are puppets.

Jonas did, however, look completely remorseful immediately afterwards.
Even the way he showed little resistance when the Eagles came after him suggested he felt pretty bad about it.

May, from the Gold Coast, reportedly said to the Brisbane boys after he felled Martin, "Do what you have to lads, I've ****** up"

I agree with you Dogwatcher, I was not suggesting Jonas wasn't genuine in his apology/s.

Jonas 6 weeks. Could have been 6 to 5 but the tribunals initial interpretation of the event was challenged by Port as it seems according to the media. Interesting to see Port Adelaides reasoning.

I thought 4-5. Then Port fought it, which made me think 5-6

Said he was caught between spoiling the ball and bracing for the impact. No surprise they didn't believe that fairytale. Also flies in the face of copping whatever you get when you challenge anything.

Port didn't fight it, he was referred straight to the tribunal no deals done once at the tribunal.

I think 6 is harsh.

They have themselves to blame with the verdict, fancy going in and arguing it was not intentional with this photo doing the rounds and his arms extended on impact
