It's interesting the AFL are suggesting (as per an article this morning) that Tippett could still be traded to Sydney by 2pm tomorrow

If there are massive sanctions on the horizon for Tippett then wouldn't that trade be canned by the AFL? Why would Sydney want a player on their list that is banned from playing?

It makes me think the sanctions being considered for Tippett at least are not as severe as a ban.

So if the agreement is not deemed by the AFL as serious enough to ban him (which I agree with despite yesterday's media hype) then what does that say about how hard they will come down on the Crows?

Clutching at straws here, gotta stay positive ...

They won't ban Tippett. AFLPA will make sure of that

Best of luck convincing anyone this is the first time triggy has dodged a players contract.
He's lied constantly thru out.
He's lied about the existence of a clause.
Lied That they Went to afl when it was gold coast who initiated it.
after a half an hour meeting they went to afl to confess (how honorable)
Falsely signed a stat dec!!

Throw the book at them I say.

I thought you'd try to defend a former Centrals player.

How would this scenario play out....

AFL ban Tippett or deny a trade to Sydney for pick 23 and White and Tippett is forced to sit out a season or be forced into the draft where he can get picked up by anyone for a whole lot less money.
Will Tippett then take the Crows to court over loss of wages as he had a signed deal with Adelaide to allow him to go anywhere, where he would've earnt a million a season from Sydney if they had of stuck to their part of the deal.
He could potentially go after them for millions!
Then on top of that the AFL are more than likely going to fine the club too.
I think the AFC pooed their pants when Tippett's Manager threatened to take them to the Supreme court and tried to go to the AFL for help!
This looks like it's going to get ugly for the AFC.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

Im not sure what Tippett himself has done wrong here?

Its not his job to sign off on contract details and know the legalities, that is what his Manager and the club are for.

He is required to know what his signing is legal

Would be no different to someone signing for a home loan through a Broucher, your still required to read the t&c etc etc

The contract, particulalrly regarding a 'get out clause', if it exists, would have been explained to him and possibly even requested by him.

Wrong!!
Except he has to sign an official AFL contract which says this contains "all of the terms of the agreement" in addition to the signing of a stat dec that says: not he or any associate has or will receive/apply any benefit/consideration to this agreement"

By signing his contract and stat dec makes him a party to any of the agreements.

It's like you and I when we do our tax through an agent, we sign off that all details are provided and correct, in addition to signing our tax forms.

All parties here (crows, Belcher & Tippett) are in deep doggy do do.

Tippett's alleged signing of a Stat Dec in which he claimed there was no secret agreement is getting so little media time that I don't know if it is true or not. I have read about it in several places.

Try telling that to the Tax Office when they quiz you on the contents of your tax return prepared and signed by your tax agent

Seems both parties have scapegoats that can't be punished.

Everyone keeps saying Sydney aren't giving up much in the trade, yet they have offered up their highest draft pick and a decent player.
