Carlton ran out the game much better and harder and port looked gone early in the last. Also thought Ports skill level in the wet was VERY POOR! Compared to Carlton who were much cleaner and made them pay because of it.

There is the suggestion that the hit was retaliation, but I doubt Collingwood will contest it on that regard.

my only reasoning for them appealin is the fact if he fails he still only gets 1 week, so worth a crack...

They are trying to have the charge downgraded from intentional to reckless. I'm guessing if it's reckless he doesn't get any games.

Says he made a sweeping motion with his arm in the hope of making contact with the ball and knocking it forward. He thought the ball was within his grasp at the time.

Thomas says he clenched his fist when making the sweeping motion with his hand because he thought that would enable him to get more force behind the ball as he tried to knock it on.
