Wasn't porplyzia (or however it's spelt) the next dead eye dick half forward that was going to bring the crows glory years back?

did kick 57 goals in 2009. pretty fair effort. injuries have ruined most of his career, and now he is 29 he is slowing down a bit and his best is behind him

Not a bad effort from a small forward.

Good come back!

Actually got me thinking what have been the best goal kicking performances in recent years by "small" forwards..... here is what I've found.

2000 - Jeff Farmer - 76
2006 - Brad Johnson - 74
2005 - Russell Roberston - 73
2005 - Mark Williams - 63
2010 - Steve Johnson - 63
2010 - Mark Lecras - 63
2003 - Phil Matera - 62
2004 - Phil Matera - 61
2005 - Stephen Milne - 61
2008 - Stephen Milne - 60
2007 - Brad Johnson - 59
2009 - Mark Lecras - 58

I have chosen to leave out Leigh Matthews seasons where he kicked 79, 77 & 74....To date still the best small forward.

Puts Porplyzia's 57 into context.

2010 - Eddie Betts - 42
2012 - Eddie Betts - 48

Well off the pace.... I guess that is why he was recruited to the crows?

Ill bite, he was recruited as we needed a small fwd who could hit the scoreboard. His outputs this season have been fine IMO. Its not about where the rank in the competition, its about the role in the team. non issue

What about this then..... I guess I was pointing out I could find a dozen better performances in recent times that were better than that.

Sorry if the truth offends!

Best being high 50's to low 60's in recent years on average, that would tell me that his 57 goals is very good. He may not have been "THE BEST" in that season, but I would hazard a guess he was up there - and better than most?

 'pretty fair effort?' a reasonable statement when the best kicked in the same year according to your numbers was 58
