Port are having a fair dinkum crack here. If I was a Port supporter is be pissed off. Promise should never have been appointed.

You're right, he shouldn't have been appointed, but then again in his first 7 games as caretaker coach, he won (I think) 5 games.

Yeah mate I know what you are getting @. As a supporter when you get a new coach @ your club you get that gut feeling if they are going to be good or not.
When Primus got the Port gig I just shook my head. When Choco went there were knives out for Port Adelaide to perform...... Let's appoint his assistant......
When Neil Craig was appointed under similar situations @ least he was the most chased assistant coach in the land and turned down the Weagles job. He failed in Finals but still got the Crows there.
Ports choice was baffling. I know hind sight is a wonderful thing and id sound like a know it all but Port Adelaide don't make stupid decisions like that. I hate them with a Passion but always respected them. The Primus choice has damaged their brand.

@Laughing Kookaburra -It was a disappointing appointment I agree.

Lack of finances was a key reason for his appointment, if money wasn't a problem I'm fairly certain he wouldnt have got the gig.

Re this last quarter, as much as its been poor, a month ago when thinking about this upcoming clash, I feared it could be a 25 to 30 goal margin.

A ten goal loss isn't great, however at least its not at the same level as some other maulings the club has received in the last few years.

Better effort.

But Hawthorn only played half-a-game.

I don't think Primus was a great coach, but I don't think he was Port's main problem either.
That will still be there for his successor to face.
