With the season nearing the halfway mark, what are Blues thoughts on Fevola?

Good riddance or still dirty?

I thought we'd struggle to kick goals, but we're the fourth highest scoring team in the AFL this season. Ahead of Brisbane.

After Geelong, we've won the most quarters of footy this year.

Pretty happy so far, especially considering Henderson has plenty of upside.

Fev who?

As I said before the season we were too 1 dimensional with him in the forward line as we kicked to him over 80% of the time making us far too predictable. People scoffed at this by saying we would be no dimensional. How wrong could they be. Reality is Fev is 29 and has kicked some great goals this year, but I think we have done better and have a brighter future without him.

Agreed Turbo. With the exit of Fev Carlton has unveiled some very talented and more importantly consistant goalkickers this season which has been great a big positive for them in season 2010.

Yes i tend to agree.
Mind you, I am a massive Fevola fan, and really admire the way he can win is own ball in near impossible situation and convert.
But as always, when the top gun leaves someone has to step up.
At Carlton a few blokes have stepped up.
Especially Jordan Russell who I'm sure wasn't disappointed Fev was shown the door 8)

I'll put my hand up for this Turbs. I was wondering who would kick the goals. I thought that while you made the right move that there would be a year of struggle before you would come good but to your credit that hasn't eventuated. Interesting to note that the Western Bulldogs now have a key forward and they are experiencing a one dimensional forward line as you blokes have for years. The end result is an easier team to plan against and the runners have the blinkers on and less goals.

I don't know about Fev who though. In an age of robots he is an entertaining footballer who I reckon is good for the game, but just quietly I'm glad he doesn't play for the Catters.

When Fev retires from Footy, and in hindsight, most Blues people will look back at his career and see how he carried the forward line in the dark years. 575 goals in his career at Carlton is a mighty achievement. His name would be up there for inclusion in Carltons best ever forwards.

Just a pity his time at Carlton ended up with him being a knob. Hopefully his career finishes with him being in the top 20 of the all time leading goal scorers in the AFL.

I'm glad he's moved on, but I still love watching the big Fev when he's on song....

What do you guys think of making a play for Jack Anthony who seems out of favour at Collingwood, given he's a good mark and kick and might be a focal point up forward for us.

The argument against might include that Kruezer might play FF from his comeback onward, given we've got several other options in ruck.

Still it might be worth a punt!

Thoughts?

What a dog of a game we've got coming up with Brisbane and Carlton this week. With no Browny and no Kruezer it is a dead set cripple fight.

no way would I get rid of JR.

Jack Anthony. mmmm. Would need to beat the living daylights out of him to try and extract the Collingwood shit from his system, but as a second / third forward option behind Hendo & Setant maybe.
