Dutchy loves bashing Port up, let him go, he's more worried about us than his own team.

0 posts in the North Melbourne thread.

I'd not bother either, old hacks brought in from other clubs to try and fix a **** up.

Sounds disturbingly familiar.

Booney surely you aren't happy with your teams performance this year and were expecting better?

How is this comment giving Port shit? Was looking through the injury lists as I do every week for my punting and thought it was a worthwhile point?

I didn't think it was a bad comment at all. And I agree. They have no excuses with regards to injury.

They have started well tonight though.

Dal has been great, Nahas been good for a rookie, Waite disappointing and Higgins is the recruit of the year.

Unlike the Port 4, we got ours to the club for no cost.

White was a free agent, Schulz was a trade for Farmer so that was virtually nothing in terms of what we gave up.

Schulz has been great the last 5 or so years, but is struggling now and may only have another 10 to games left in him, White has been handy, Monfries inconsistent but has played well in some finals/big games.

Still to be seen whether the Ryder gamble will pay off.

All 4 are probably getting above what they really should be getting, but that's pretty common in today's footy world.

Well done to Port, last night.
Too desperate.
First quarter kind of went how I thought it would - Port on an emotional high.
From there, they just scrapped to a win, with their desperation to get a win the only thing that stopped us from rolling over the top.
Shows there's still good spirit in the Power.

Really enjoyable last quarter to watch - just the desperation shown! Hombsch is a gun, I love watching him play!

Beautiful tribute after the game also - nearly made me shed a tear as did seeing the likes of Wines and Hinkley choking back the tears, just shows how much this is affecting them and it meant to them.

Yep. I thought Krak was a bit stiff to get dropped.

Where is Moore at? Seems to be a bit of a scapegoat. Colquhoun was stiff, reckon he is worth persisting with

Has Mason Shaw played much this year, when he was with South I thought he got potential to make it at the next level but seems to be unlucky with injuries last year or so. Assuming they get rid of Butcher, will he keep his spot in the squad?

Butcher will be gone, make no mistake.

Shaw had an injury interrupted pre-season, got going just before the start of the year and then has had soft tissue injuries prevent him from playing a game this year. Currently still 2-3 weeks away with a groin.

Will he stay on the list? Not sure, we invested heavily in tall timber at the last draft ( 4 players, 199cm,199cm,200cm,195cm ) along with the addition of Ryder to the squad would mean at least one tall will be under very close scrutiny ( other than Butcher ).

So to answer your question, I don't think he will keep his spot.

I don't think Shaw will be de-listed, but perhaps the club will consider a trade, if there are any offers from maybe WCE or Freo.

You think he would be kept ahead of Harvey?

We would jump at a trade IMO.

Of last year's draftees the only one who is really a key forward is Howard. Frampton (ruck) & Austin (defender) fill other roles.

So assuming Butcher is gone, then who else is there apart from Harvey.....there's Howard, and pretty much nothing else.

They'll back Schulz, Westhoff, Ryder as key forwards, Harvey as back up and I think Frampton will play more as a KPP than in the ruck long term. He's a mobile big lad.

I thought Shaw really had the look of a likely type, he just hasn't been able to get continuity in his fitness / body and deliver. With that in mind, they may give him one more year.

What do you think of Redden's prospects?

11 players 195cms+ on the list at the moment.

Westhoff, Frampton, Redden,Austin, Howard, Harvey, Lobbe, Shaw, Trengove, Butcher, Ryder.

Clurey, Hombsch, Carlile, O'Shea 193cm.

So 15 players 193cm +. We are getting a little top heavy IMO.

I think two at least will go, Butcher and Shaw / Redden.

Schulz will be gone in a year or 2.

We still need about 2 young up and coming young key forwards on the list, which would be Harvey & Shaw.

With Burton injured, he may drop in draft order, so if available, he may be on our hit list. Although from what I've read, he's more of a 3rd tall, so may not be along term solution either.

Redden could be a candidate to de-list and rookie (if available).
