Might get longer than September off if things keep going as they have at Windy Hill under his guidance.

Will definately be talks at seasons end, all depends on which board members get a say

North can come and join us, we will both be watching finals from afar

Not on current form - the draw also opens up in the second half of the season for us.
Will only have ourselves to blame if we miss the 8.

You do have a very easy draw to finish

Ahh, the James Hird situation just gets better. I'm glad to have passed the banner over.

Hird would've had to resign - if they sacked him the sook probably would've sued Essendon

He was sacked, he was told last night and has accepted it with a pay out.
Players voted yesterday arvo to keep him but the board did what was best for the club

Why would the whole board go?
All of them were appointed after the saga, some only joined this year and were put there under instruction by the AFL. Little was going anyway was my understanding

Well those that were involved in giving Hird an extension need to go. Those that have arrived during this mess probably don't need to go anywhere.

Why they let him back as coach after his suspension is beyond me. He is responsible for the mess they found in. The costs, the heartache and uncertainty they've faced in the last few years all traces back to the program he wanted to implement. The fact the club let him is ridiculous but the things the players have said about Dank are just unbelievable. And this bloke was operating openly under Hird's nose and with his apparent blessing. To think they not only brought him back to drag this out longer, while he fought the legal battle and got paid handsomely is unfathomable. Whatever happens now, Essendon can FINALLY move on. Whether or not the WADA action leads to further penalties, this is the moment the club will say they started to claw back some respectability.

because he only agreed to the suspension if he got offered another contract.

I don't think they had a leg to stand on, probably couldn't afford to pay him out.

I think the AFL have to step in and help them out, pay out his contract and get him away from the game/club, this has gone on far too long and we'll still be discussing it in 12 months time if something isn't done about it.

He is gone. Club has negotiated a pay out and he has told the players. Will announce it at 2:45

Well mark it down as an Essendon win this week, isn't that what usually happens? Thank goodness they didn't sack him last week ;)

Egan or Skipworth to take over as interim coach according to The Age http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/the-essendon-crisis-club-and-senior-coach-james-hird-part-ways-20150818-gj1noe.html.

How does "The Hound" like that?? Being over-looked for those two?????
