Scott Thompson ( 32 in '18 ), Jarrad Waite ( 35 in February ), Ben Jacobs ( 0 games in '17 ) and Declan Mountford sign 1 year contracts.

*Sigh* North only have 4 players over 30 on their list.
Thompson more than deserves another year, his form warrants it.
Waite when fit is near impossible to match up on, yes it’s a risk but one most North fans including myself are happy for them to take. Again, our win % is through the roof when he plays.
Jacobs was injured ALL year, a bit hard to notch up games from the sidelines.
Unlike Gibson, these 3 are in our best 22.

Gibson played all the games, Jacobs couldn't get on the park, Waite played 10 and in your words you had a ridiculously high injury list....which included 2 of the blokes you just signed on. Risk? That's a positive spin if I've ever heard one.

Again, Gibson only played all year due to numerous others that would take his spot being injured. It would be realistic to think they won’t all be injured again in 2018, yes? Jacobs is 25, I don’t see a problem with him being right to play a full season next year, so no risk there.
Waite (I know he’s a fave of yours) is a risk (this is like Groundhog Day), one worth taking - pls read previous posts & turn the record over

Who plays in 2018 isn't the focus, who plays in 2019 is. Waite, Swallow (Andrew), Thompson, Thomas all won't be around in 2019 but can contribute to a largely developing list in 2018.

Just listened to the clubs thoughts on trade week from here, seems pretty determined that we will be going to the draft with picks 4 and 22 and won't get involved in trades.

Nice little pay rise to split up that war chest too, I'd imagine.

Looks really promising and with him and Brown you've got two KPP's locked in.

Where to for Goldy?

With an uninterrupted preseason the club still sees him as the no 1 ruckman. He wasn’t right for most of last year, that was clearly evident.

Goldy signed on until 2019, club will be hoping he has a half decent season and can move him on next year if thats the case, great news with Preuss, one thing we don't do is lose our young players.

We have had a good run with solid ruckmen, they just can't seem to give us 10 years+ good service - McIntosh>Hale>Goldy>Preuss
