At least he's not taking drugs, or gambling I suppose...
Injured Collingwood star Brayden Sier reportedly played in a local basketball game this week despite being ruled out of AFL action with a calf injury.
Mitch Cleary of AFL.com.au is reporting the Magpies player took part in a Diamond Valley Basketball Association Division 3 match in Greensborough under the fake name “Phil Inn”.
Collingwood said Sier was just shooting hoops with friends during breaks in the game but according to the report, people who were there claim he spent roughly 20 minutes on the floor during the match — a worrying sign if true because of his existing ailment.
“A player even said to him (Sier) what are you doing playing domestic basketball and he just gave him a cheeky smile,” an eyewitness told AFL.com.au.
Sier last played in Collingwood’s loss to the GWS Giants in Round 18 and is expected to be out of action again this weekend and miss his fourth straight match because of a calf problem as the Pies prepare to face Adelaide on Saturday.
