Talk on the national game

Tommy Clurey is a ripper, the last of the Power players apart from Boak to play at aligned SANFL club. He was a solid contributor and top bloke at the Bay in 2013.

Wish him well as he tries to find another club.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

You'd think having a couple of strings to your bow at that size would be in your best interests.

Don’t think he wants to ruck, forward is his preference

Selling himself short if he wants to get back on an AFL list

Way to ruin your AFL career then.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

His development was hindered because Port didnt have any good top up players
I blame the SANFL for Scully not becoming an elite AFL player

No point having someone playing in the ruck who doesn’t want to and not compete for taps.

Just because you are tall doesn’t mean you are a ruckman

At some time in his life he'd have played in the ruck as a junior.

By all means play other positions, I've seen it with kids I've coached and my own kids, the more strings to your bow, the better.

AFL clubs love versatility, especially a ruck/forward combo. A big bloke with forward craft is a brilliant addition to a team.

With Dixon retiring and Finlayson on the outer, it seems there's a void for a forward/ruck in the Power team.

Scully came thru the juniors with a heap of other talls, hence was played forward, don't think he is combative enough to play ruck, however was surprised Port didn't persist with him and try him there.

Mind you if he stays forward and comes back to SANFL and kicks 50+ goals he will be back on an AFL list very quickly.

So, 3 lads going through the ruck at Westies? Why not 4? Lemmey was mainly a defender in his last year, Barnett also up forward.

I just don't get pigeon holing yourself by saying "I just want to play forward"

Anyhoo, this is in danger of going on as long as the GWS fines so I'll stop now

If you want $600k a year you do it.

Not if he sets the parameters for how or where he plays he won't.
