Absolutely, but hopefully it would stop the 12 goals to 6 bore fests. :D
No it won't.

The way its worked in rugby is that if a side is losing they will still attack to the end rather than just have an honourable loss due to having the bonus point on offer. This has seen a massive increase in scoring.

The bonus point becomes more valuable than percentage and makes teams strive to reach the figure.

It's rugby, nobody cares.

The rest of the world cares mate, we even have a thing called a world cup!

In fairness the Port Adelaide Union side has never had to get tarps out either because of lack of crowd ;)

It's as interesting as the EPL, two teams can win it, Australia and NZ and another two could cause an upset, South Africa and England. That's it.

You know its getting bad in the AFL when 3 EPL teams scored more goals than 3 AFL teams, a sport that prides itself on it goal fest action :D

Good, go talk about it in the EPL thread.

Massive week this week with the top 4 playing each other.

Current odds :

Brisbane $1.77 Geelong $2.05
Richmond $1.55 West Coast $2.40

Would've thought Brisbane would be shorter.

And West Coast not that long. They weren't great against Adelaide yesterday, but one club was playing for their season, the other wasn't.

Yeah, I surprised with the result, I didn't watch it though.

Some huge games this week.
North vs Port
Adelaide vs Collingwood
GWS vs Bulldogs

All will start to shape the bottom end of the 8. I'm starting to think that Jim was right and the Bombers will lose their spot and two out Port, Crows and Bulldogs will make it.

Chuck in Sportsbet's "double your winnings" promotion.

My only concern is my poor Friday night tipping form.

Is it time for a drastic change in the way the premiership table works. Get rid of percentage and only count points for could be a good start. Don't give the under the roof excuse there is no real difference in scoring there as evidenced by Essendon last night. I just see that as no different to who you play twice instead of once which is more lopsided than where you play.
Look whats happened to the scoring of North, Carlton and St Kilda when there was no pressure on the interim coach. We have to change the way the game is coached, that will bring about far more watchable footy than most rule changes ever will. Mind you I still think prior opportunity should be gotten rid of, its either kick, handball or holding the ball, lets make it easy for the dummies in green

This culture that the AFL has created... A couple of funny results, someone has an injury, a spectator swears, etc. Then people want, even expect change.
Then whatever crap decision they make to fix the so-called problem filters through and affects all grades of footy.
Then the coaches find a way around it.
Then people want change...

Sandilands hanging up his size 18 boots at the end of the year. Remarkable effort from the 211cm giant.

If you think his 270 games is a great effort consider that for around 135 of them he's had to get on a plane and fly all over Australia.

3500kms from Perth to Melbourne, that's 945,000 air kilometers or around 1000 hours.

And with that goes the last player on an AFL list that has experienced a finals loss against Essendon :)
