Very very lucky.

Still wont make it back into side unless form picks up in a big way.

Yep, unbelievable. Look at what Zeibell got 4 weeks for!

Was a dog act by Embley and IMO deserved at least 4 weeks. I hate that sort of thing in our game.

Still remember Jeff Farmer fracturing Michael Doherty's eye socket wit a dirty knee to the face, said he was 'getting up' and got away with it. No need for cheap shots like that and even Crowley's pinching.... if your not good enough to beat a bloke one on one without resorting to that... hang the boots up!

Footy Smart isn't so footy smart. Nothing wrong with what Crowley does.

Embleys was low impact, dirty, but low impact. Really, 2 weeks max.

No. I don't have a problem with what Crowley does, just because Harvey does. Crowley is just annoying, just like Steve Baker was. Harvey needs to htfu.

On one hand people complain that today's footballers have no character, but when one goes against the norm, people condemn them. I hate Jake King, but he is good to watch when he gets stuck in.

Pinching is a bitch act, personally if someone started pinching me on a football field I would take a suspension for the left hook reply which they would recieve.

If Crowley is running around pinching blokes I have lost all respect for him.

And there it is, exactly what your opponent is looking for.

Pinching is a form of niggling, been going on for years (ask Dunstall about Craig Kelly), how soft/sanatised do we want to make the game?

Your example is from 20 years ago. Apart from the likes of Gaeffer, Libba and Romero (same era) I dare say you'd struggle to find an example from recent times. It's a dog act, what if every tagger/run with player adopted these tactics?
People's opinions might also change if it happened to a star player from their club.

I dont know about the AFL, but it happens heaps in amateur footy all the time. I was getting pinched by my player all day on Saturday.

A dog act is something I'd deem completely unacceptable, like spitting .. If a bloke can't handle a few pinches or jabs to the ribs, then he's playing the wrong game (IMHO).

If you can't handle a pinch you shouldn't be playing. This isn't soccer.
I've copped way worse than that on the field.
Harvey needs to harden up, like some of the people on this forum.

No, the AFL needs to harden up and pull this germ into line.
I can only imagine if J.Brown got pinched and he turned around and belted the bloke what the reaction from lions fans would be after he copped 3-4 matches. If you polled every AFL player on this topic, the majority would side with Harvey IMHO. (then we'd have an epidemic of players that need to harden up, hey Baron?)

Belting a blokes a bit more extreme than pinching. I pinch and get pinched. Its a bit of niggle. Its no different to a slight elbow in the ribs. It happens in every single game of footy. People call the AFL soft, but then complain that people arent getting penalties for the smallest stuff.

I love Boomer, but I had no problem with what Crowley was doing. It was a hard tag. It means Crowley and Fremantle respect Harvey enough to try to get his head out of the game and keep him away from the footy.

I have copped my fair share of behind the play punches for it

I wouldnt put it in the same category as spitting at all. A little pinch is just irritating. It doesnt do any damage.
