Fair point, but in this case, it's not the sole indicator. His standard hasn't dropped, no matter whether he has been in a gun team or a struggling (until this year) one. It's why I'm watching Gary Ablett Jnr's first couple of years at Gold Coast with great interest. By the end of next year, we may all know more about his place in the overall scheme of ratings.

Averaged 21 disposals a game at West Coast.
4.6 tackles a game at Carlton.
3.6 tackles a game at West Coast.
The one area he is down at Carlton compared to West Coast is goals per game: around 1 per game at WC, around .6 per game at Carlton.

Here Here, massive fan of that theory, same goes for the Magarey Medal etc etc
BUT
What does Judd have to do to become a great in your mind though?
Kick the ball better, and defend better. The amount of times I've seen players like Jared McVeigh tag Judd and kick 2-4 goals on him is amazing. He still polls votes because he is amazing at winning the ball, but he is, like Murphy at Carlton, unlikely to ever work backwards and help the defence

He stands out on his own and gets cheap kicks and he let a rookie in his first season of footy towel him up, he has no accountability. Goldsack is far better cant believe hes not playing. As for the people who said Maxwell surely you are joking, the guy is a fantastic defender.

My opinion is that he stands out for 5 minute periods of quarters where he bursts packs and gets possessions and then goes missing for extended periods. He can have one standout quarter and get 3 votes.
I don't rate him but that's my opinion

But he burns the ball too often and makes a lot of mistakes when the ball hits the ground. Yes he beats his opponents one on one but I cringe everytime we kick the ball to him in general play.
