Really, Russel is a very good player. I can't see the blues parting with him. but hey if thats what they offer then take it.

He's contracted for next season, and Carlton have said he's staying but I'm just relaying the vibe....

He's had a shocker with injuries etc this season so hopefully he stays and fires.

And LOL @ the Gunston.

Have read we're into Dawes though.....

Pains me to say, but Dawes is a gun... Underrated in the strong Collingwood line up, but a gun nonetheless.

Sorry but Dawes is definitely not a gun. He gets the second best tall defender, get delivery lace out from an exceptional midfield and when he doesn't it, for example the weekend, due to the pressure from WCE, he cracks the SH1TS, doesn't kick goals or take contested marks. Average at best.

As for GWS, I will probably jump ship soon and jump aboard the giant train. I love recruiting 20-22 year olds, when the giants are good, 2014-2015, these players will be superstars, Ward will be Michael Voss like, Scully will be Marc Murphy like, Davis will be a mix between Scarlett and Prestigiacomo. I really think the recruiting staff have done wonders!

Not sure what to make of Dawes. Thought he was on the verge of exploding, injuries didn't help, but I could see how he'd maybe struggle being the #1 forward with a lot of expectation.

Will be interesting to see who the rest of their signings are, as well as their draftees.

They could be fairly competitive.

Could add in Wingard who is likely to go to GWS, fevola next to Patton, and the Liston medal winner from 2010 that tied with valenti (forget his name but he is at the gws this year)

Whats the go with the 17 year olds ie Kennedy? They keep a few on the list and trade a few am i correct? Can they play in that first year? If they can play surely Kennedy would be a chance in a FWD pocket (if not on traded)?

I'm not so sure Giles is a CHF, more likely will share the ruck with Brogan and perhaps play deep in attack.

IIRC :

They can "pre-select" a number of 17yr olds who, being to young to draft this year, they can either draft ( using a selection next year ) or on trade for players/draft picks. You'd think players as they already have the picks.

*EDIT*

They must trade these 17 year olds for players to other clubs.

Wow, that's a shock!

Interesting to see how he does. I'll be surprised if he plays 10 games.

He was playing reasonable footy when he was forced out! Year off to freshen the body up, no doubt still playing some level, so should be fine.....

Shock indeed!
