Quite simple, Carlton have to get rid of him, they made the public stand after one of his last incidents that if he did it again, he is out the door, well he is still there, what message as a football club does that send to others, that you can go out and get pissed, make a dickhead of yourself and still stay, all you get is a fine. I have seen the full video of his antics and what a bloody disgrace, thankfully the footy show did only show the "edited highlights" of his behaviour. If he remains the Carlton Football Club's reputation for enforcing discipline and getting rid of troublemakers will be totally tainted

BRENDAN Fevola has told Carlton Football Club he will not be attending tonight's best-and-fairest count at Crown Casino.

Carlton executives met this morning to discuss the Fevola situation, and decided to postpone until later this week a meeting with the full-forward that will determine whether he enters a 12th season with the club or is put up for trade.

I hope the Crows don't consider taking him - unless his contract can require disulfiram implants... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disulfiram

And who kicks the 80 odd goalshe kicks every year???? what an idiot

I agree with McClure. They could trade him for a very good medium sized forward who wouldn't be as one dimensional as Fev. You don't need an 80 goal a year goalkicker to win a flag. They rely too much on him and I believe that while he is at Carlton, they can't win a premiership.

Carlton rely on Fev up forward way to much. Perhaps they are using this lastest issue as an excuse to trade him for something good while he is still worth a bit.

Anyway its yet to be seen if they will trade him.

Depends. Who knows what the stipulations of the contract were. Sydney would have plenty of cash to throw around with Hall & Micky O moving on.....

Good point- and Sydney have a history of 'straightening up' Key forwards...Lockett, Hall, Fev?

The question is, does Fev wish to be remembered as a Lockett or a Jacko?

I cant see him going anywhere ... The concessions Carlton would have to make (ie, continue paying a portion of his salary whilst he's on another teams list) are too great.

Take the money side out of the equation, I seriously doubt any other club would take on his problems....

Someone will, they always do Dutchy.
Which is why it would be hard to blame Carlton if they held on to him.

Exactly. If you're a good footballer a club will always take a punt in the hope they can turn you around and get the best out of them.

Sydney have a knack for doing so.

I think we'll put him up for trade, but want the earth in return, not get it and keep him on our list. It might just scare him into the realism that Carlton's patience has run short.

In reality, we can't afford to let him go if the mantra/slogan 'they know we're coming' is going to bare fruit.
