Each time a club has had a close look it ends up needing a Board meeting to decide and then they walk away. Yet he's apparently only going to cost a PSD pick :? Why?

There must be something coming up each time he gets checked out in depth.

Ben, I think the time has come to give it away ... go away and get better out of the spotlight. The lesson learned might just be the best thing he could do for the game in the long run.

Are Brisbane the only club left?

There is an opinion piece in The Age today, which I can't find a link to though there are several others with on line links, that points out that one worry is that though Benny has admitted to a drug problem, but he has never actually come out and said drug use is a bad idea, or that he regretted using drugs in the past, only that he regretted being addicted - and by implication getting caught.

The recent incident, trying to be tricky with about hair sample he knew he was supposed to provide, tends to increase the residual uncertainties about his failure to develop a change of attitude and condemn drugs and "recreational" drug use in the light of his experience.

PS: You may be right MW. The recent hints in the press suggest Port may be that stupid..

Peter Rhode came out last week and officially said "no" to Port drafting Cousins

He gave the usual reasons - age profile of their list, the risk factor, etc

I'll second that brother!

Our list is young enough, so it certainly wouldn't hurt the team. Especially in the short term.

Could he be snapped up with a pick 60 or 70 odd by a club that has yet to speak to him?

If so,they can take him then say we will pay you minimum wage and for one year at a time. He then is in no position to argue against it.

He could probably get more cash playing in the lower leagues then!

I don't think so. Minimum wage in the AFL would be more than any lower league club could afford with salary cap restrictions. Regardless he would not be in it for the money.

I can't think why else he would be in it...
Love of himself seems to be more prominent than love of the game or he wouldn't still be playing silly bugger with the AFL administration over testing.
I'd better send Norwood's CEO an email voting against Norwood recruiting him.

Ben has nominated officially for the national draft this Saturday, which automatically counts him for the pre-season draft, if he doesn't get picked up this weekend.
