Malthouse likely to leave Pies at end of season..

Postby GWW » Fri Aug 26, 2011 2:12 pm

There has been lots of talk of this over the last few months, but there has been renewed speculation about this the last few hours. There was a report on breakfast tv this morning about the likelihood of him not accepting the coaching director role and working alongside Buckley.

Noticed there's a bit of coverage of the subject on line now too..

Will be interesting to see how all this unfolds.

For all those footy supporters who don't want Collingwood to win the flag this year, this is indeed a good thing :)

I've got two cartons on Geelong beating Collingwood in the last minor round, and a bottle of vodka on someone other than Collingwood for the flag... So keep going The Media... :D

Agreed. There was always going to be massive speculation on the arrangement, especially after winning the flag last year and probably having the best season by a club since 2000 this year

I know you love Collingwood, but relax, the media is simply bored and looking for a story, and this is a story. Although it probably isnt anything really, who knows? But judging by there performances if anything is actually happening behind the scenes its hardly effecting there peformances.

I reckon in hindsight Eddie made too much out of locking in Nathan Buckley as Collingwood's next coach. If he had let Bucks go I am sure Bucks would have made himself first in line whenever the Collingwood gig came open. If Mick wins two flags in a row and wants to go on Eddie should have set things up so that Mick could have taken that opportunity before the rookie senior coach.

Sad to think he could go back to back this year and not have a job next year.
Hope Buckley turns out to be a dud, I know a fair few Pies supporters who are fuming that Mick is going.
Hope he finds a club and it comes back to bite Collingwood on the arse

You're flattering yourself if you think the reason is to stop Collingwood. The media couldn't give a stuff, it is wasn't Collingwood, it would be some other club. That's their job (unfortunately).
