Talk on the national game

round 19 Adelaide vs Bulldogs Sunday 8th August 4.10pm

Postby clanger » Tue Aug 03, 2010 5:53 pm

With such a young team you just never know particularly with our home record of 6-3 with wins over Geelong and Fremantle and all our home wins have been in the last 6 home matches compared to our away record 1-8 with a win over16th palce Eagles. I reckon if we can kick straight at goal we can win with us the supporters urging them on.

i am still going to tip safe with bulldogs to win by 10-19 points.

with johncock and possibly knights to return this week.

Why dont you use it GN? do you give it to others to use when you cant attend games?

I was overseas for the last 2 and a half months, but we left them with my family with strict instructions that they MUST be used. They were, so ever other bastard got to see some super games for free.

Now poor ol' GN has clocked back in just in time to see them return to the form they were in before we left! DOH!

I was pissed about missing the Geelong game. I've been to see them play Geelong every year for the past three years and it's always been a shelacking.

Very good GN im just checking to make sure your tickets didnt go unused ;) When i cant attend games i make sure others are able to use the ticket.

Yes unfortunate the last 2 weeks however the improvement you will see in a few players is enouraging.

Id love to see Martin get a crack again this week! he seems to have come back into the Sturt team without skipping a beat, probably averaging 20 odd possies

Off topic I know ... But the Ticketmaster Ticket Forwarding system via the SANFL website is excellent .. Never any excuse for not forwarding tickets these days (lol unless finding a taker for them proves too difficult), something the SANFL has done very well.

Some good ins there. The match fitness of Martin and Knights could be questionably though. Excited to see Martin have another crack at it!

Martin has a big tank and has been able to do alot of running in his rehab, he has played 5 or so games so he should be right! I hope he goes well and can cement a spot in the team! Knights across half forward should also be right, stiffy is a big inclusion. Gunston still looks raw and a few weeks back at sturt will do no harm for Jaenschy

I wonder what was achieved by playing Gunston last week ?? Can't see that game (apart from teh exposure at AFL level) doing a great deal for his development...
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

I think you had it at AFL exposure Choc, Run a line through what they have done with a lot of youngsters (Dangerfield,Sloane prime example) give them a couple through the year so they know what level they have to get to then he will be able to set himself for next year

Reckon it's about list evaluation at this stage of the year also. Same with Brodie Martin getting a gig this week - need to take another look at him at this level so they can make the right call at the end of the year on who stays and who gos.

Yeah, at least the effort was there this week. I think the Bulldogs toyed with us at times, we were never going to win tonight.

Sloan is a bewdy.

Yep, I was pretty happy with their efforts tonight. They worked hard right up until the final siren, didn't let the heads drop at any stage. I can't really pick out any poor performers. Thompson was excellent, Sloan & of course Johncock, super game from him.

It was really our forward line where it broke down, our defence was excellent and our midfield certainly held their own against more experienced opposition. Just couldn't get clean posession inside 50. All the forwards worked bloody hard, the ball just didn't stick or fall their way. A bit disappointed with the lack of crumbers up there to be honest, many times Tippett and other bigger bodies provided a contest and got the ball forward of the pack only for no-one to be there to cash in on it.

Thought the Doggies were pretty lucky to be honest, reckon they played 10 mins of footy each quarter and it ended up being enough to get them over the line. Sign of a good side I guess, you can have an off night and still come away with the chocolates.
