One of Footballs Mr.Nice Guys call it quits

Postby Booney » Fri Oct 23, 2009 9:10 am

After endearing himself to every opposition player and many opposition fans and indeed much of the media one of football's Mr.Nice Guys has called it quits.

Yes, Port Adelaide runner David Arnfield has decided enough is enough and he will no longer be the bearer of bad news to the Port Adeladie players on match days. Sure, many would not like him but no doubt he is the type of guy you would love to have in your camp, tough, ruthless and passionate for the cause with no individual bigger than the team.

Good work Arny, you will be missed.

The true meaning of the "Serial Pest".
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

When did he start with the Magpies? Seems like he's been around forever.
Did he have any background as a player?

I can tell you Dutchy he did.
If there was any controversy about his departure i would surely state it myself on here.
A very loyal bloke when it comes to the Port Adelaide Football Club whether that being Magpies or Power.
He'll get back into teaching after a good break in Queensland & i wish him the very best in the future, a great bloke the Arnie if your on his side, if your not no doubt he can be a real c..t just ask Dwayne Kretchmer from the Bays, i think thats his name & how you spell it!

I've wondered the same thing RC, i recall he was a Glenelg midfielder in the 90's who suffered an eye injury, but i have no idea what he has to do with Arnfield.

Was charged with kicking Arnfield in a melee in front of the Rix stand in a league game in 1994. Of course there was no provocation....

Guilty but repremand IIRC (Spelly???)

Glad so see the back of this serial pest!
Never off the field always clogging up opposition forward/backlines and a mouth bigger than the Grand Canyon.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

I can believe he quit. Runners cover a lot of territory over a game and he isn't getting any younger.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
