Honestly Melbourne are losing out in a big way getting rid of Mclean. Very good player!!!!

Agreed, foolish by Melbourne. One of if not the best midfielder at Carlton and will only get better as he is still young. Melbourne are surely meant to be starting their run up the ladder sometime soon, well obviously not with trades like this.

I don't reckon, I see this deal as a legitimate win-win for each club ... Carlton are much closer to a premiership window and pickup a quality player ... The Dee's MUST rebuild through the draft, so they add to their already impressive selections (not to mention already impressive list of kids).

He wont replace Stevens, but he could be taking the in and under role that Judd has had to play a bit in the last two years, thus freeing up Judd who will take the outside spot of the fatty fatty boom boom Stevens

yeh. if i was a dees fan, i'd probably rather Brent Maloney as captain before Davey. but word is the only way he would sign longer than 2 years was to entice him with the possibility of taking over the captaincy from McDonald at 2010 end.
