Port were easily the best team in the comp for a couple of years and couldn't even make the grand final. It's no comparison.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Collingwood hasn't won any AFL flag as the VFL was changed at the end of the 1990 season after Collingwood won their last flag.

Well it looks like any team that is leading is said to have "choked" these days..... but that is ignoring the quality of the team that was behind.
Perhaps, the Crows have "choked" in certain individual games, however, the mantle of King Chokers is indelibly imprinted on Port Power with its 2000-2003 performances and emphasised again with their capitulations over the last few years where expectations of top 4 became bottom 8 realities as well as the countless games where they lead by huge margins yet proceeded to hoist the white flag.
Indeed their biggest choke was the whole season 2009.
