I wish the X LOTTO numbers were as easy to pick as the Powers form.

I actually said to my wife in the 2nd 1/4 that Brisbane would win ... they were still running hard and Port were starting to celebrate too early. Plus Brisbane have had a few big comebacks this year.

But, hey, easy to say in hindsight! NM has the post to prove his prediction so I dips my hat to you.

Gotta be devastated with that performance though...

Im still trying to figure out how they dropped that one ... They had the advantage in healthy numbers (which given the heat had to be a decent advantage) and they had plenty of players in decent nick.

When Port play positive footy they have some very attacking weapons, but when they go negative they are abominable.

Credit to Brisbane, but I believe their opposition could have prevented that tonight.

One thing I took out of the game is how clueless the Brisbane football public must be, booing Ebert for a clash that was unavoidable and happened with no malice intended.
You could clearly see that he tried to slow and avoid it and we all know he would have been dragged or dropped had he not put the effort in to get to that contest.
So that would be a big  to Brissy supporters at the match.

Yeah it would have been really obvious to the crowd after watching the incident that Ebert put the brakes on. Live I thought it was a bit rude but when I watched the replay I got a better look at it. If you stop snorting so much glue maybe your eyes wouldn't roll so much.

As for Port AYE CARUMBA. I've been moping about the house all weekend due to Geelong's recent 'form' but last night the Power reminded me of just how much the footy gods can feck with your mind. 10 Goal first quarter and finishing up with 14 and getting done WTF? Poor Booney!

IIRC Norwood did the same thing at the Bay. We kicked 10 in the first quarter and ended up getting done. I think we ended up with 17. Cue spelly to thread! Never was a happy hunting ground for the Legs that 5hithole.

I wouldn't single Brisbane supporters out for that. It's called one-eyed, and all clubs have them. It's also exacerbated by the fact the media try to turn trivial offences into huge ones to sell papers, increase ratings etc.

As for losing after being 7 goals up in the 1st term, it actually happens a lot these days. It seems almost the worst thing you can do in modern footy is set up a big lead at 1/4 time.

What was probably more remarkable about this match is that they kicked 10 of the 14 goals in the first quarter. Now that is something that doesn't happen too often, if ever. Loved NO MERCY's prediction.

When i heard the quarter time score i sarcastically said wed still find a way to lose.......on the bright side we are not in the finals and thats a relief, becasue the way weve been going that would only end in tears ala 2007.

The A-team attending alternate matches is one thing, but leaving after one quarter is a bit rough...

Their team used to be allowed to thump opposing players in the kidneys every time they took a mark in front prior to 2004, and their supporters can't see why the shouldn't still get the positive side of the umpiring all the time... ;)

Yes, I recall it being brought up a few times where Aish was caught holding the ball near Snouts pocket in the last quarter of that match and it was the loudest holding the ball call ever.

Glenelg 5.2 12.4 16.6 20.10 (130)
Norwood 10.3 13.6 15.8 17.11 (113)

Went up the the Gabba for the game, was cheering at quarter time! We were attacking early on, running hard and working as a team. Late in the first quarter we went defensive, kicked backwards and stuffed around with the ball trying to see the quarter out. We never got out of that mode for the rest of the game. We stopped. Didnt run. Didn't chase. Dropped easy marks.

Was back to the bad Port, and not just from this year, if you go back to 2002, 03, 04, we were the same then. Many times we would have big leads and only just stumble over the line. We deserve all the bad press we are getting.
