Which young guns will step up?

Postby auto » Sun Mar 15, 2009 7:14 pm

I think Krackhore will have a big year, playing the running half back role if as suggested Peter Burgoyne goes back into the middle. He's looked pretty sharp so far this pre season. Boak will take another step towards becoming a gun. And if Robbie Gray stays injury free he could be anything. Thoughts?

Salopek, Boak and Carlisle will all enhance their reputation this year IMO.

I think Salopek will become much more well known outside of Adelaide this year and i expect him to become one of of the more influential midfielders for Port and even in the whole competition.

We all know how much potential Boak has and after another pre season in the system Port will be expecting him to come on in leaps and bounds.

Alipate had a remarkable year last year really, to finish 5th in the Port Best and Fairest and become a NAB Rising Star Nominee really is a credit to him and his work rate, Hopefully he will become an even better defender this year and really not only put his stamp on his spot but enhance his reputation throughout the whole competition.

Carlisle is def under rated outside of Alberton. Rarely gets beaten. Has a great attitude too, you can just see him becoming a general in the backlines in the very near future.

Agree on Carlisle, great long term prospect there ... To my mind Salopek and Boak are already quality established players, would be nice to see Salopek get a decent run with injury.

Agree MP would be great to see Matty Thomas have a good year, needs to tidy up his errant disposal by foot a bit, but both he and Nick Lower (same with foot skills as MT) are great lads but appear to be on the outer at the minute, hopefully that's not the case.
