Who/what do you want with pick 10?

Postby NFC » Thu Nov 27, 2008 4:39 pm

Personally I want a genuine superstar midfielder, one with pace, poise and good skills. Hartlett would be perfect but I just can't see him dropping to our pick.

I get the feeling we’re real keen on McKernan but I have no interest in him. Get the feeling he could be one to peak real soon as he is already bigger than most juniors which allows him to dominate. I wouldn’t mind Trengrove as he is athletic and versatile but his kicking looks dodgy. Lewis Johnston at #10 is too high and there will be better players available.

Prefernce would be Hartlett but since he'll be gone, I want Lisle. Big bodied KPP who can play everywhere. Nice skills, good in traffic and could probably become a gun CHB.

Geez! Is that a contradiction or what! You say you want a superstar midfielder with pick 10 but then you want to pick up a big guy instead. :?
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

I want the best available player, period. IMO you don't get fussy at pick 10, grab the best of what's available. Draft for specific positions later.

I have read many debates and opinions about lots of lads but I don't know enough about any of them to pick someone I'd like specificially.

If Rendell can draft a group of lads as good as last year's then I'll be a happy supporter

No, no, no.

I WANT Hartlett he won't drop. I would then go for Sidebottom, doubt the Crows would take him over a tall.

So what I want and realistically expect us to get are different stories. But Lisle, yeah.

Either of Hartlett or Sidebottom would be great gets; I'll feel sick to my stomach if Hartlett goes to the ferals at 4. I'm a huge fan of Sidebottom, such a super all-round footballer without being overly quick.

McKernan is a hard one to pass judgment on. Crows fans are used to seeing punts on talls fail miserably which has made quite a few wary of this kid. I have only seen a couple of the youtube clips but just off those I've got to say he shows a very good pair of hands and his dash is impressive. Wouldn't be my first preference at pick 10 but I'm backing Rendell to make a good call after seemingly getting it right last time with Dangerfield.

I was thinking the Power would pull a shock and take Sidebottom at pick #4 but speaking to one of the clubs recruiters last night, he really believes they can't go past Vickery (sp?), so there's every chance someone on the Crows radar will unexpectedly slip to pick #10, such is the uncertain nature of this draft.

I hope Sidebottom falls through to pick 10

Good call. Sidebottom is such a natural footballer. His stocks skyrocketed after the TAC Cup GF but after the draft camp and his not so successful results he was always bound to cool off. I'd love to take him. Smart with superb disposal, great hands and excellent overhead for his size, and can obviously go forward and kick a goal.

Yep i would take a natural footballer any day over a athlete. I think it is easier to learn how to run than how to play footy.

yeah would have preferred Steele Sidebottom or even Lewis Johnstone for the Crows pick 10, only cause Phil Davies was unheard off and besides already injury prone.

Does one injury make you injury prone?

Lewis Johnstone wasn't worth 10 IMO. I rate Schoenmakers higher.

I would have gone with siddebottom. But the crows have looked to there big men for the most attention this year. Still I feel sidebottom in a few years would have gone well in middle.
